My first time ....
Catchy subject title, eh?
This is what it is all about - recently for the first time ever I have ordered all by myself some books online.
From Chapters.
From the reply I got, looks like the order went all OK, and I should get my books sometime in the mid-April.
Can't wait!!!
For anyone interested here's what I ordered:
Stitches: A Memoir by David Small
Beautiful Lies by Lisa Unger
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity by William P. Young
I just started Half Broke Horses by J Walls. Just five pages, so far.
The one thing that I've noticed and what pi**e* me off is I can't understand what I read so well anymore.
I have a hard time grasping a simple sentences.
I think I am either getting senile, or all those M are taking a toll, finally...
I hope it doesn't mean I am reduced to silly Stephanie Plum's shenanigans only.
Much as I like her, I'd like to be able to enjoy something more substantial as well!

Re: My first time ....
My daughter (with heart in mouth) ordered my birthday present on line last year. Celia Smith's cookbooks. The post man left them in the rain and the company she ordered through were wonderful. Either new copies or a credit. I told her take the credit and sure enough they sent the next order through without a problem.
For some reason in Oz books in normal retail outlets are really expensive. The online books are about half price.
And yes, reading is becoming a problem. Five minutes if I'm lucky before I either fall asleep or just can't get the concentration happening.

The Lovely Bones is soooo good!
But please, if you like the book, don't watch the film (IMO). (Unless it's too late for that )
I was really disappointed in the film.

One of the things I've been enjoying about my new M regime is reading again. I've been in a reading frenzy for the last week. One day I read two whole books in one day! I'm loving it, loving it!
I order online all the time. I usually have the items delivered to work though so I don't have to worry about it being left outside so that the puppy dogs can inspect and open my packages.
