Hypnotherapy for migraines

Hello all, new to this forum, Have any of you tried hypnotherapy for migraines? I've read it has good results for pain relief from them? I get them about once a month and I feel like dying when i have one!

Did nothing for me. I had about six or seven sessions.

I tried it once, but the hypnotist could not make me fall asleep properly, so it had no effect.

I never tried it again, but once I have bought a book about Self-hypnotherapy, and I have learned some useful skills, which help me to a degree. But it requires quite a lot of practice and the attention required to put it into practice can be exhausting on top of the h/ache. This is an issue if migraine last for several hours.

It can be very useful skill at times, though. I can sort of "shift" the pain away from my head.
Frankly I am not sure, that hypnotherapist can be helpful from the distance, in terms of pain relief, but maybe other's have a different experience .
