Trying to find help with my migraines!!! Have no relief and need help!!!

Hello my name is Brenda and I am 42 yrs old. I have been having migs since I was 13 yrs old. They are getting worse. I am looking for any suggestions or help. I have been to tons of docs with no luck. Also been on tons of different meds with no luck. Finally got an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic but not for months. To me this is not living. I spend most of my time in my dark room.

Welcome Brenda, No miracle answers sadly, but lots of advice and support on here.

Sorry I don't have any answers. I recently fired my neuro and actually feel better now that I'm not a lab rat. Still have daily migraines but the symptoms aren't nearly as severe. My only words of wisdom are to hang in there.

Hello all!!! Thank you so much for your words. I have tried everything, I am sure just like all of u have. I am going to The Cleveland Clinic in July to see this doctor that deals with the blood vessels in the brain. So maybe, but not holding my breathe on any help.

Hello everyone!!! I am so glad i found all of u too. Not sure how this forum works, so i may need some help. Have had a mig for about 3 days now that is why i have not been on. Just in my room watching the world go by with me not in it. Also trying to cope with the fact that i cant spend time with my 2 year old because of these migraines. Not fair!!!!!!!!!!!! Really hoping that cleveland clinic can help me. Heard about some surgery they do up there and i am really interested in learning more about it. you all know that if there is something out there that might help u you are willing to try anything. Well hope all is well with all of u out there.

Hi Brenda, this is my first time here and I'm so glad I found you guys! I have daily chronic migraines and have yet to find any med that helps. I've been on imitrex, zomig, relpax, maxalt, midrin, klonipan, Elavil, fioricet......so many and nothing is helping. Right now I'm still on the fioricet and I take zanaflex. I have also been reading up on migraine surgery, infact I sent my medical records out to a neurologist in Houston Tx at a headache clinic, still waiting to hear from them. I live in Tennessee, so Houston would be a long distance to travel for me. My family doctor is trying to find the closest headache specialist for me. I have had epilepsy brain surgery, and Praise God I'm seizure Free! but these daily migraines are killing me! I think there might be a compressed nerve in my head, but who knows. I've had a MRI-MRA, not sure what other test need to be done.

Cindy your case sounds a lot like mine. I went through the ringer with every approach imaginable. I did not start getting headaches until I was 46 but then they were of the chronic daily variety finally turning into full blown migraines. I finally found something that works. Welcome.. I'm sorry you have to deal with this also. There is a wealth of information in this group so even if we can't come up with an answer we can certainly commiserate. I raised two children while having chronic migraine and fibromyalgia. It is not easy but it is amazing what reserves you can pull on when it is your kids.
