Living with the unpredictablity of migraines

Been 15 months now of daily migraines.........woke up this morning with this list in my head and wanted to see if anyone wanted to add to it for me........just those daily reminders that help me make it through the day:

Living With The Unpredictability of Chronic Migraines:

1. Prioritize Your Activities

2. Give priority to those things you want to do not just to those things you have to do.

3. Don't fight with the bad days - that can make them worse.

4. Be honest with friends, family and co-workers on the bad days - trying to hid how you are feeling is exhausting.

5. Exercise on the good days.

6. Acknowledge that migraines change your brain chemistry and make it hard to think correctly.

7. Don't beat yourself up for what does not get done - it is not due to lack of caring or desire.

8. Pain is emotionally and physically exhausting.

9. Ask for help.

10. Recognize that you are not making them happen - you are not at fault.

11. Let go of those commitments in your life that are not necessary and do not feed your soul.

Very very wise and insightful.

Perfect way to put it. It took me a long time to learn that I couldn't do everything. Now things get done when they get done.

Sage advice for anyone dealing with chronic pain/chronic illness. If this is your brain on migraine, you must be a veritable Einstein without a migraine!

Often we get caught up in all-consuming pain and just making it through. Thanks for reminding us to be realistic and to be as good to ourselves as we are to others.

I think your list is great
I have a bit more of a problem.
With FMS and IBS too, I dont get to do much of anything any more.
Used to work for me,but the last year or so, no life quality at all.
Maybe things will go backwards, sure hope so.
Meanwhile,sound advice.
