What preventive works best for you?

I was wanting to know of what preventives have you guys tried that worked the best in the long run? I have been on so many.

I have used clonodine .1 mg three times a day for 18 months. It started working right away as i had daily HA/ Migraine.
It works as an abortive also. I am not having daily HA, and every 8 days a Migraine starts and I add a dose.

Recently I started to dose 2 times a day and that seems to be better. If I do not dose I get a HA or M. Thats all I take.

Some years back 5-HPT reduced the intensity of M. It also worked right away. 100 mg twice a day.

It seems on here some people have relief from topamax or beta blockers. Keep trying things . I got my script from a DR. filling in for my new regular dr.

hi i am having a really positive result from using a beta blocker called propranolol, 40mg twice a day, started working almost immediately, well the next day, after a constant 3 week M that wouldn't shift, have been on it for 18 months now and still get headaches but no where near as often and not half as bad as b4, (although still ocasionally get a stinker,)in fact i have gone from using 3/4 triptans a week to taking none at all for the entire 18 months, (please god may it continue), it makes you sleepy and is terrible for weight gain, i have piled the pounds on, but i have got my life back so for now will continue to take it,
