syncope update...some data filtering in
i got some data from the tests that i had in november regarding my syncope. all of the tests had some issues.
looks like my cardiac autonomic system is normal.
standing and lying systolic blood pressure runs normal low to moderately low.
i have some venous pooling--mostly when i'm sitting, but not orthostatic hypotension.
some rare by marked sinus arrythmia while lying and standing.
normal plasma volume but i'm slightly low on red cells.
i should get scheduled to see the doc sometime, but none of this really is a clear indicator of syncope.
however, it does put heart rhythm back into play and how much blood volume is pumped, especially when i do something physical and especially when i use my arms (like drying off a car).
slowly but surely........

In layman terms, what does it mean, Marc? I apologize for being such a doofus.

i am translating my post into doof....LOL Risa.
watered down version is that my blood pressure fluctates, on the low side. how hard my heart pushes blood is a bit on the low side...not horrible by any stretch, but might not be the best. the pressure fluctates whether i'm lying flat or standing, or get up from lying....or any combination like washing windows, walking, etc.
red blood cells carry oxygen and they are created in bone marrow. my red blood cell are a bit low which could mean i'm anemic--from what, we're not sure. there's a heredity factor in this--grandmother had metabolic bone disease which made her anemic.
if you have low red blood cell count, it can make you generally feel ill, weak, and out of energy, amongst a host of other issues.
low red blood cell count too can be cause by long term illness. my cardiovascular problems, & liver (my liver makes too much cholesterol), and meds can factor in here.
the heart rhythm changes at times. most people have changes all the time and it's normal, but it's the types of change can cause problems.
lots to go through. i see my family doc in a couple days and will go over this stuff with him. i think it's time to see a hematologist (blood specialist) to start the review process. to add to the bone mystery, i am very vit. d. deficient--with supplements just barely over the minimum threshold. this may be a sign of bone function isn't the greatest. a few confounds here.
each new thing we find usually takes a year or two to really sift out the info and get a diagnosis. tooooooooooo long. i'm not getting any younger.
the good thing is that my migraines are pretty much under control. i always have a headache, but it's livable. somedays i have brain explosions and take breakthrough meds. the cardiovascular meds i take also work as migraine preventatives, so i cover two bases.
ooops, the blood pooling. the venous system returns blood back to lungs and heart to become re-oxygenated to return through the arterial system. my veins are keeping a bit too much blood in the center part of my body and legs and it's not getting refreshed and sent up to the brain at times. we're not sure why.
the heart has it's own set of nerves tied to the brain. if those receptors aren't firing right, your heart rhythm can cange.
complex as usual. i'm not sure if this is any clearer. sorry my friend.
thanks!

Marc I love you for your wit and humor. and good looks of course
The doof translation did the trick -thanks!- and now I am smarter. well a bit more. lolol
It looks like the drs have a new puzzle to be put together.
before it looked more like complicated a cardio-neurological Pandora box, now we are adding blood disorders and what looks like to me a possible genetic disorder?
The most common causes of Vit D deficiency is, of course, lack of sunlight exposure and in your case maybe certain medications?
whew, so many new mysteries to untangle.

Re: syncope update...some data filtering in
i had a magic stroke of luck....i'm able to get in to see the cardiologist that did the testing next week.
saw my family doc today and got some lab work that i have to get done. we'll take a look at bone stuff and red blood cell issues. it can be part of liver and kidney problems.
tons of stuff to sort through, but at least i got in to see the cardio.

Marc,
I hope the cardiologist is able to sort through much of the test results and help find some answers for you. It has to be very frustrating. You're in my prayers. Hang in there.
