how to afford meds
Hi there. I firmly believe in being postitive, but right now it is difficult. I'm happy with my life... I have great kids, good man who is a great helper when the M kicks in and like my job alot. I have lost my insurance in April and due to my migraines I'm having medical bills more than I can afford already. I make just aliitle over the cut off for assistance now. I'm thankful that my daily med works. I get sick when I take what I call my power pill so I save those for home. The injection I take at work cost over $4,000 for nine injections. Does anyone know of any other resourses for help out there that they would share? Still smiling in Ohio.

What medications are you on? Perhaps you could look at the website of the pharmaceutical company which makes your drug(s) to see if they have a program to help assuage the costs of their product?

You can go to http://www.pparx.org and enter information about your income, then list all the meds you take. It will show any patient assistance programs you're eligible. You can print out the forms then and there, then take them to your doctor to be signed.

Yes, we're here to help each other. Judging from the spam link you posted, you're not. Shame on you.

I hate these spammers. I would wish them ill but I don't want karma to come and get me.
I'm in a similar situation with not being able to afford my meds, except CA determines that I make to much - on unemployment! - to be eligible for assistance. What a joke.
Someone, maybe it was even you, Teri, posted a link to apply for an assistance program with the drug company that makes Imitrex, inwhich they will pay for your imitrex through their assistance program if you qualify. Does anyone remember? That was really helpful, but I can't find that thread anymore.

I always suggest www.pparx.org because you can enter your information and a list of all the meds you take to see if you qualify for assistance. If you do, while you're there on the site, you can fill out and print the forms your doctor needs to sign, and you're all set.

I saw your name and jumped in. How do I email Dr. Robbins? I have a question about drug interactions. Thanks. G.

Re: how to afford meds
I'd suggest looking on his web site for a contact email address... www.headachedrugs.com.

Re: how to afford meds
You're welcome. The only other suggestion i have is to do a post here with a subject line something like "Question for Dr. Robbins," and wait for him to come along and see it.

Oh well, I don't have Twitter. It's ok. I'll ask my doctor when I see him on the 9th. (June) Perhaps you might have thoughts on this? I take Gabepentin. Just wondering if there is any kind of drug interaction with Butterbur? This is the place to go! G.

Gail- IDK if the link will work, but I tried to check the 2 in drugs.com's medication interaction thing-y. None were noted, but it didn't really reconize butterbur. You might run another search with the name of what the bottle says, it might recognize it better.

Hope if nothing else you might find an answer there.
