Morning on the lake. Empty Morning on the lake.

Jessica and I took off this morning to a lake just a couple miles away. The weather was perfect with a very light breeze to keep cool.

Heading towards the small island with a beaver lodge.

Getting ready to explore the island. Notice we even managed to keep lunch dry after 3/4 of mile.

We had a great time and got to ride the wake of a couple bigger boats. The canoe did great compared to a rigid one when it came to stability.

Lunch time on our way to the marsh area.

Beautiful pics. and video Brent, the sound of the water could have put me to sleep!

I can hardly wait to get out on our boat, but with the weather here in Calgary lately (snow and rain mix) we'll have to wait a bit longer!

Thanks for sharing. Smile (Yes, I agree, your daughter is so pretty).

What kind of boat? I have an 18' bass boat but it's a real pain to launch and pull back onto the trailer. Not to mention how expensive it is to operate.

In the time it took another guy at the launch to back his trailer down and hook up the boat we had the canoe out, carried 50' to the truck, deflated and ready to go home.

The island we visited only had a small 3' wide spot to get the canoe into and get off. The rest was heavy marsh. So I am looking forward to being able to explore places I could never reach with my big boat.

Soo cool! My daughter is moving to Oregon and I'm looking forward to visiting her and making her go explore the wilderness with me. If she is going to move to the Northwest, she has to live with Mom making her camp again! Very Happy
