Re: butterbur and migraines
I have been on this for about three months in combo with various other supplements.
The HA specialist out of the Mayo clinic swears by it.
I'm not sure if it is helping yet, but my migraines have decreased in severity.
You can buy it online for cheap at swansons vitamins.

My daughter just started taking it with feverfew last week and is also taking a b complex vitamin as well as magnesium. She has not seen results yet but the neurologist is hopeful.

Re: butterbur and migraines
I have twice started Butterbur but it seems to upset my gut.
I was hoping it was bad coincidence because I want to try it again.
I know it can cause gastric problems, but not known to be much of a problem.
Any hints Milo??

Re: butterbur and migraines
I'm usually really sensitive but I have not had any problems with any of these.
The doc worried about the magnesium as wll as the omega three's but I have tolerated them all well.
Try taking the butterbur with meals. If that doesn't work...try it without...lol. Usually a few complex carbs works though.

Re: butterbur and migraines
I have on butterbur (150 mg) for quite a few months and with no stomach problems. As to whether it did any good, I don't know for sure. Maybe the severity of the headaches have been down a couple of levels.
If it causes stomach problems, drinking ginger tea and/or eating ginger candy may help.
