Welcome to March. And welcome to all our newbies.
New month, hopefully calmer weather!!!! .
Sunny and milder here after a week end of torrential rain.
So pinch punch first of the month, and I hope we all have a better one.
Well speaking personally February was the worst......
11 Triptans and really the month isnt over...well I mean...28 days....
Mind I am not sure I am counting 1 Triptan because it was the Almogran I tried, and it failed me....
What do you think, can I call it 10 instead??
Anyway, to all my fellow pagers......Happy March.
Here's to a better month (and I do have a birthday which I don't want, so have to big up the rest of the month)
Let's all try to be positive, Spring must be out there, and maybe, just maybe if the "weather" has been a factor, we will improve.
Sure hope so.....Lets all focus....

Yes I wish the best for everyone in March too.
Ivy, so glad you've had two good months, everything crossed it lasts into Spring.
Pen, you could look at it the other way - ‘only 11 triptans’. If I’d only taken 11 in February I’d be over the moon. Instead I’m not counting any more as it scares me. As you can see, it was a bad month and I’m trying to dredge out any positives to get me into March. It’s a fantastic day, there’s one. Woke feeling quite good, no work today and there are SO many things I want to do. But by 9.30 things started deteriorating and one triptan and several hours later, I’m left with that foggy feeling and have lost the will to do anything. The migraines are worse since I started the new preventative over a week ago (headaches are a side-effect) but I guess I should continue to see how things pan out.
I know you should grasp the ‘now’, it's a very good philosophy, but hard to get your head round at times.

Amen to the calmer weather. I've been under high pressure since Wednesday and today makes it 6 days in a row that I've been up and able to be somewhat normal with no major changes in sight for this week. I haven't had something like this since I started the "guinea pig" trials. Yes there's always a low grade M just hiding below the surface but life is good for the moment.
Hoping March is a better month for everyone.

Oh Ivy, so sorry, in my excitement, I forgot that you have been suffering less.
It does seem we are all effected despite the extreme, barometer up or down...
Hope it doesnt get too bad for you.

I am also hoping for an easier March! I am not sure if the awful weather in February was responsible but I know it did not help my mental health. Our local paper this morning did a review of our February weather - we had 1 clear day, below average temperature and over 3 times as much snow as we usually do. The first day of March though is not off to a great start - cloudy but it is above freezing...........

Hi, "newbie" here, I'm an older guy who's been suffering with migraines since the 70s. Lately the Left Coast has had an onslaught of storms which have been giving me problems. Tend to get two to four migraines a month, some last one day and others up to three. Use to take Midrin but now take ButalB-APAP-CAFF, have been trying to reduce the amt I take in a month...it means putting up with more pain but just don't know what the long term affects of the meds will be. I'm glad I found the forum and have read many posts.

Funny thing - first appointment with my neuro...he said epilepsy was like an electrical storm while migraines are an electrical drizzle. A thunderstorm is over quickly while a drizzle can make you miserable for hours if not days. Still a sort of storm but not the kind I'd prefer.

Hi,
What lovely posts from everyone.
Not really a newbie but hi to everyone, used to post a lot about 8 years but somehow lost track- forgot my user name too! I was AlisonT.
The site is a lot different than it was back then- very sophisticated now! Can anyone tell me how I can put a pretty pic next to my name!

Hi there,
Click on profile at the top of the page.
Tabs along the top, one says AVATAR.
That will let you chose one from a collection, or upload your own.
Hope that helps.
