Piccie of our new kitty, Fancy
We got her to hold still for one picture. The sweetest thing has happened. As you know, my youngest son is mentally handicapped, along with autistic. He doesn't care much for dogs.
Today, he came running downstairs with a big grin on his face and said "Fancy is sleeping with me!". When I looked in on him later, he was just sitting watching TV, stroking her back. They both looked quite content. I don't think she's "MY" cat anymore!

A cutiepie!!!
She seems to be a good natured cat. I love her coloring.
Isn't it terrific how pets make people happy? I am glad she made your son happy
Did he named her yet?

Actually, she came with the name Fancy. The guys don't like it. Stevie said he has to get to know her better before he names her.

Kitty Piccies
Awe, she is a beauty! Is she a Calico by any chance? She looks just like my cat, Misty.
It's great that she's becoming attached to your son.

What a beautiful kitty! I'm so glad your son has already formed a bond with her--animals are wonderful therapy for all of us. I think sometimes they sense who needs them most and what is needed.

She's kind of calico, kind of tortoise.
She seems to have a real affinity to men. When I first got her home she took off and hid. I didn't go hunting for her 'cause I figured she was scared and I wanted her to get used to her surroundings on her own.
As soon as Hubby came home, she came out and was rubbing on his legs. At night she burrows under the covers next to hubby (he doesn't like her going nose-to-nose with him in the middle night though).
She will lay with me but only if Hubby and Son aren't around.
She's been very good, using the litter box perfectly.
I'm so glad I got her. Son still hasn't come up with a name for her. He's very good at naming pets, but he likes to think about it for awhile. He named his future SIL's little westie dog, Willow, and it's a perfect name for her.
She has really helped my mood improve.

Oh, Charlotte, I want a kitty. My husband won't let me because he says we have dogs and we're dog people. I just love animals period. I keep telling him I want to housebreak a miniature horse as a house pet (LOL).
I'm so glad the sweet kitty has already improved your mood. Aren't they special?!

How many and what kind of dogs do you have? Hubby wanted a chincilla until he found out they had to have dust baths two times a week. It's hard enough to keep up with three pairs of basset ears.

We have two dogs (that's the limit my husband has set).
Mindy is a 15-year-old mutt (maybe lab mix) that a co-worker's husband rescued from the middle of a 4-lane highway near town. She suffers from arthritis, and this cold, below-zero weather we're having has been really bothering both her and me.
Dolly is a 5-year-old purebred cocker spaniel. She looks a little like my avatar only she's parti-colored (white, light tan, gray) and she's got the puppy-dog eyes and pout down to an art.

Re: Piccie of our new kitty, Fancy
We had a cocker that was a rescue. That was the best dog we ever had. She was so smart and loyal. I think the only reason she was given up was because she had a nervous bladder a would urinate a little when she got excited. We didn't care, we didn't have carpeting so it was easy to clean up after her.
She was my eldest son's dog. He even had his senior picture taken with her. She was so jealous of his girl-friend whenever they were sitting on the couch Lady would jump up between them and glare at her.
It was heart-breaking how she died. My son was pulling into the driveway and the dogs ran out to greet him and one of the bassets bumped into Lady and pushed her under the tire. My son was devastated. I remember seeing this hulking 6'1", 200 pound lineman, laying in the middle of the floor in a fetal position sobbing his heart out.
I don't have a scanner at home, but later in the week I'll post a pic of her.

Oh, that's so heartbreaking.
My favorite dog of all time was the australian shepherd/cocker cross I had before Dolly. If a dog could be a soul mate, she was mine--she was so intuitive as to when I was in pain and would lay with me when I had a migraine. She was absolutely the most intelligent and faithful dog. She had a urine leaking problem too, but it was easy to overlook that problem because she was so wonderful and I knew she didn't do it on purpose. She died in a similar accident as your Lady.
My granddaughter (4 years old) often calls Dolly Lady because she looks like Lady in "Lady & the Tramp".
