I like the emoticons, being able to use a photo as my avatar, and being able to see who else is on-line at the same time I am. Very cool.

I agree. I think this site is simple yet offers lots of nice extras that make it fun to use.

An avatar is a picture that you use with all of your posts. Like some of us have our actual photos, some have their children's pictures, others pets or hobbies. Really just a way of personalizing things a bit.
