Two Years Ago Tonight

Two years ago tonight my Steve died. I found him gone late on a rainy afternoon. Love was not enough ... not nearly enough, to keep us together.

I have moved on,sort of. But oh my, oh my how I miss my Steve each and every day.

Just a minute ago you (Richard) popped into my head and I was wondering why you hadn't been active on the forum lately and I also at the same time was checking the miscellaneous site since I hadn't been on that for awhile and there you were right at the top. You were lucky to have Steve in your life. He must have been a great person!

Wow, it has been two years. I remember the pictures from your anniversary party. I am so very glad you did that and I appreciate that you shared your joy of the party with us. My experience is that the pain and sadness never goes away completely. However, with time it isn't so brutally raw and now I think more about the happy times rather than the shock of the loss.

I remember that I was at work when I first saw your post on Steve. I sort of half screamed when I read it, I was so shocked. I cannot post when I am at work so all I could think about was you all day and the first thing I did when I got home was post to you.

The two of you were so lucky to have found one another. The picture says it all. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time Richard.

it really doesn't feel like it's been 2 yrs. I remember reading the title of your post about Steves passing and being in such shock! It made me realize that this forum was more than a place for info and venting, but that real bonds and friendships were formed. Your love for Steve had us all hooked into it like a great novel b/ c of how deep and beautiful it was. Even though a body may at some time expire, the love between two souls like that is alive forever. I truely believe that.

I also believe that the truest of loves stay in our hearts always and grant us the ability to love again. Because true love is not selfish or jealous. True love yearns for the happiness of it's counterpart.

Hugs for you today Richard, as you miss Steves company more than other days. But if you clse your eyes and clear your heart and your mind, you'll feel his love is right there with you still.
