blue light in home lighting? how do we avoid it?
Back in 2008 roughly there was a lot about the blue light from low energy bulbs triggering migraine which then seems to get muddled in the newspapers with the problem of flicker. Is it worth considering changing the lighting set-up at home to avoid these sort? The whole house is either low energy bulbs or halogens so I'm worried I am avoiding everything you can eat and bathing in light that is making me sick now, or was it just the papers stirring things up?

I think like everything, there are some people who are bothered by it and some who are not. As far as I can tell, they don't affect me. I don't seem to have many more with the new compact fluorescents than I had without them. I'm not sure when the deadline is, but I believe here you won't be able to buy old style light bulbs soon, so it's a moot point.

have purchased an LED bulb to try
I decided to try an LED replacement which cost me a massive £8.99. My eyes feel less strained in the morning so it might be worth trying changing them in the main room for me. I don't see the point of changing them in the hallways though. Unfortunately the whole house if full of energy saving fluorescents so it will take a long time to afford to change them all.
