out of meds
Hello Sheri, I used to fax my script to a canadian pharmacy and then fill it local. It cost less in canada anyway. Never had a problem there. Later I was buying on line no script required. Those triptans came from overseas. Never had a problem there either and cost less again. about 6 dollars 100 mg triptan.
I havent done it since early 09. Some people are concerened with quality or whatever but they have a billion people in India.
They get M also and buy triptans. ( the last shipment came from India all printed in english. }
My sister used to get samples from her Dr. for me. A nice lady at work let me pay her co pay and refill her Maxalt for me.
Good Luck. I hope you are better soon.

Re: Now what? out of meds
wow, I will have to check into that.
My pcp will give me samples if he has them, but they are kinda stingy with them, probably about 3 pills. (at no charge)
My neuro, well, that's another story.... we'll see what he's made of this morning!

I take Imitrex generic, shots and pills, and Trexitmet.
He tried to give me methergine again, ( I have refused this drug 3 times, it make me sick and constant headache duh!) Ended up with Etodolac 400 mg. looks like something they give arthritis patients. Like aspirin. Oh well, I will try it and see if it works.

when i get a migraine that hangs on for several days (like the one I have now), my neurologist gives me a steroid to break it, which has always worked.
Good Luck. Feel Better!

I have had steroids for that too, but he won't give them to me only a couple times a year... go figure.
He wanted me to come and get nerve blocks done on my head today, but I was at work, and they called me to late. (it's over an hour away to his office ) said they would call me in the a.m. if they had any openings.
hope so,, maybe it will work this time. I tried them before but they only last about a week.

Have you ever had a Toradol injection? That's what I get when Imitrex shot doesn't work.
As for foreign pharmacies I've used them in the past, mainly UK, Spain and Switzerland. There was a web site that used to rate foreign pharmacies for delivery speed, quality, customer service etc. I don't remember the name, but it was very good for outing scammers, which is a BIG problem with overseas pharmacies.
If you choose to order from one be advised the lead time can be up to a month. There is also the chance that the package will be confiscated by customs. The places I used shipped in a plain package with the meds in blister packs instead of a bottle of pills.
If you choose to use one, PM me and I'll try to help you check it out.

NSAID is a non-steroidal anti-inflamatory drug.
Basically it is not a pain reliever. It acts to reduce any potential inflammation.
I was on Etodolac for 2 years. I cant say it did anything for my headaches.
I hope you have better luck.

Re: Now what? out of meds
Dan,
Yes, I have toridal and needles. I get 9 per month. and I have alot extra that I haven't used. That is what I will do. It works alot better if I use it and the imitrex for the bad ones. Gives me a nice mellow buzz then it's good night!
I will probably stick to the usa drug companys, we have pretty good insurance.
thanks,
sherri b

Sherri, What a terrible predicament! Have you tried taking preventive? I know they don't work for everyone. They didn't stop my migraines but for me they were less frequent & intense. Hope you find an answer.
