I'm a Grandma , again!!
My son and his wife gave birth to a little boy last night, their third, his name is Luke Andrew, and a real cutie, loads of black hair and the cutest face. A baby brother to Grace and Benjamin.
Mum and baby are doing quite well, although they are keeping them in one more night as Luke had a high fever last night and some breathing problem that wasn't quite right but they are happier about him today and just want to make sure he's ok.
Just wanted to share!

Re: I'm a Grandma , again!!
Congratulations to all! To Luke Andrew for making a safe entry into this world! To your son and daughter-in-law for having such a special little one! And to Grace and Benjamin for having a baby brother! Now they will both to get to lord it over Luke that he is not as big as they are!
(I'm sorry for stealing your thread with this diversion, but I just had to add a story my grandmother always used to tell about how my older cousins were teasing me one Thanksgiving how they were older than I. Jaynee is only 5 months older, so she had just turned 5, let's say, while I was 4. I was somewhere around that age. And at that age, you don't really think in terms of 5 months, but that now Jaynee is a whole year older than you are. So Jaynee and Joe were telling me that they would get to have a driver's license before I would. They would get to date before I would. They would get to graduate from school before I would (actually, Jaynee and I were in the same grade, and I graduated from college before she did!), etc. My grandma said she stepped back to watch as I pondered all this and suddenly blurted out, "That means you're going to die before I will!" That silenced them for good! So if Luke Andrew gets teased like this, maybe here's something you can whisper in his ear!)
And speaking of his name, your grandson clearly has a strong biblical name! Luke, the third Gospel, and Andrew, the second disciple of Jesus ever. My mom named my brother Andrew because she liked the fact that he isn't mentioned often in the Bible, but every time he is, he is bringing people to Jesus. She liked that fact about him and talked in a devotion once about how that inspired her to name my brother Andrew, in the hope that in his life he would be bringing people to Jesus. And given how he is now living in Brazil for that very purpose, he was aptly named! So may your grandson carry on the tradition of his biblical namesakes!

Congratulations Ruth.
When my youngest was born (30 years ago Thursday), the midwife said.
"Nothing nice than a Christmas Baby".
Well it was then, but now she hates being born on top of Christmas.
But I still remember it, probably better than the other births.
And I think it was lovely...

Congratulations Ruth. I'm jealous....I've been told 2-3 years and maybe I'll get one. In the mean time I'm a baby snatcher. If there's one within 15 feet of me I WILL find a way to hold it.
But, my family also calls me the "baby whisperer". I have a knack for getting infants to quiet down. So frazzled Moms are a little quicker to hand off screaming babies....

Thanks so much everyone, he came home yesterday and is doing well.
Yes Vicki it is a very biblical name, both his parents are strong Christians. His daddy (my son) is also called Andrew!

Thanks again. I'd post a picture but don't know how to do it and with my dry eye syndrome I can't spend long on the computer figuring it out
