Who has daily pain
And what is its cause?
I have pain most days and I believe it is trigger points.
Its not the same as migraine, but it isnt totally different either.
Today has been a frustrating day.
I woke reasonable and was doing ok until I ate my lunch.
I have been having problems with sinus pain and my jaw is partially locked.
I think eating lunch (only a sandwich) set it off. I tried to OTC but have sat here from 1pm not in agony but in too much pain to do anythng or concentrate.
My daughter just gave me an Indian Head Massage and that has helped a bit.
I just wondered how many of us have daily pain of some sort, anbd how many are pain free between migraines.

Re: Who has daily pain
I do...
Migraine, back pain, leg pain--
Since the Neurontin/amitriptyline combo quit working, my M's have been back full-force.
I should run out of Maxalt sometime this month, thanks to Medicaid...

Re: Who has daily pain
Almost daily pain here. I find it rare where I don't have a headache. Maybe a day out of a week.
I have migraines that are at least a 5/6 3-4x a week. 8/10 Migraines about 2x a month. The rest
of the week I reside at 1/3. Topamax WAS helping right up until I got a different brand of generic.

Re: Who has daily pain
Hi All,
I have daily pain- chronic intractable migraine, New daily persistent headache. This has been going on for about 12 years now. I have had two brief periods of remission- one in 2002 following radiofrequency to the nexk which lasted 8 months. Ther second remission came after the stimulator was implanted in 2004- it also lasted about eight months. The headaches didn't completely go away, but I would only get 2-3 a week and they responded well to medication.
Right now though, the pain is daily and unrelenting. The medications and stimulator take the edge off, but that is it.
Pain free days,

Re: Who has daily pain
Mine are always present, fluctuating from an average 5-6 up to 8-10 four or five days a week. I also have neck, shoulder and upper back pain with it (degenerative joint disease) that fluctuates as well. I've been through countless preventatives, and I'm still trying........
A neurologist at Mayo told me that once you've been diagnosed with migraine, any headache you have is a migraine, no matter the cause or pain level.
I just wish someone would invent a head transplant, and I'd like to be the first on the list to get one...

Head transplant sounds good, do me two favours as I have the most useless fine hair, so could sort that out at the same time...
I would just like to someone else for a while, I get so tired of dealing with it all.....

sure I do have it
I have daily pain of some sort. It's rare that nothing hurts. But even though some of the other pain can be fairly bad at times, they usually can't compete with a migraine. In fact, I tend to ignore those other pains unless someone asks about them. My motto is, "Any day without a migraine is a good day!"

Re: Who has daily pain
i have head pain every day....it just varies in intensity.
last night was rather severe. i think most of us have constant pain, it just goes up and down in scale.
i haven't had a day without headaches in years.

Re: Who has daily pain
I do. I have had chronic daily migraines for 9 years. I have had 2 days with no pain in that time. It varies from a 2 to a 9 during the day most days. I am finally seeing a pain specialist and the meds have made my life bearable. I wish I had done it earlier.

I started M 6 years ago 2003 .... by late 2006 I was daily chronic headache leading to 6, 7, or 8 M four to five times week.
2007 - 2008 were both terriable but 2009 was less severe . I say that so others can have hope. So yes I am daily misery also.

Worst part is is that I've sworn off pain pills for the time being. Read my newest post for more info.

Re: Who has daily pain
I have headpain every day! Always, and lately, I feel like I am going crazy. I have ringing in my ears all the time. I wonder what it would be like to have quiet.......
This is really hard. Was having a pretty good day today until about 4:00 p.m, then all hell broke loose. Did an imitrex shot and it helped alot, but it is still there, lurking in the shadows! I hate it. I never thought my life would be like this.

Re: Who has daily pain
I do. I have better days and worse, on a better ones I wake up with minor pain and take less meds.
usually by mid day I don't have to take anything anymore.
on the worse I am sick all day, sometimes well into the night.

I am sorry we are all enduring this. These aren't migraines, so what causes all this pain?

Re: Who has daily pain
I believe mine are migraines Pen, but they vary in intensity. The reason I say this is because
they are always one sided and come with the side effects most migraines have. Even if
they are only a 1-2 on the pain scale, I still concider them a migraine. I call them a headache
to my family and friends, and leave the term migraine for the severe pain otherwise
they will get confused about it. I still don't think they are just headaches though.
I, too am sorry everyone is suffering. Hopefully we can find some answers.

Re: Who has daily pain
I have chronic daily migraine too. My pain is always migraine like in quality, so I believe it is all migraine for me too.
Migraines got worse in (all very approx) 1999, increasing in frequency until daily which lasted about 6 months in 2002, then back to weekly-ish, then increased again to daily in 2003 and that lasted 18 months, then back to weekly-ish then increased to daily again in 2006. So constant pain now since about 19th April 2006. This isn't classed as NPDH as there was a gradual increase to this point, not a sudden onset, and the headaches are migrainous.
Never knew why I suddenly 'snapped out' of the daily phases so can't retry anything specific, although I have tried!

Re: Who has daily pain
I have constant facial pain, fibro and migraines every couple of days. I don't have a single day when I am not in some sort of pain. I can't even remember the last time I went a whole day without pain. You get rather stoic after awhile. This winter is worse, with a lot of different pain than before. I know most of it is cold related. Can't wait for warmer weather.
