Fibromyalgia and Migraines
Has there ever been a connection between Fibromyalgia and Migraines? I ask because I'm having a preliminary blood screening done inflammatory problems, and for the first time my PCP mentioned Fibro.
Lately I've noticed I'm fatigued a lot and my joints hurt, mainly my ankles, knees, wrists, elbows and back. What else can go wrong with Dan?

Re: Fibromyalgia and Migraines
Dan,
I have Fibro and I can promise you that headaches and migraines are a BIG symptom.
As is IBS.
I have no history of migraines, and no apparent triggers.
I think my migraines are a symptom of the fibro.
Alas so far, no remedy.
Good luck Dan. Remember there is no blood test for Fibro, it is a tender point test, and symptom observation.
Feel free to check out my FB page, lot of info there.

Re: Fibromyalgia and Migraines
I'm sorry to hear that you're getting hit with all this. I know what it's like.
I go to a center that specifically treats fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. In talking with the other patients, I would say there are very few who don't mention headaches as a problem. Many have migraines to the point of not being able to function.
I agree with Pen. She has a lot of good information on her facebook. It's worth checking out.

How kind of you Cathy.
I am a bit embarassed that I dont always manage to post much, but my idea was to colate articles for the so called co morbids so that they were more easily found. I am glad you find it worthwhile. Feel free to post links to anything you find as well please. Helps me when I cant do it.
All are welcome.
Thank you

Fibro/Migraines
Dan,
I'm sorry that you are having to deal with migraines and possibly fibro. My neuro says that fibro, migraines and gut problems seem to be related.
I am like Pen...no history of migraines and no known triggers.
Guaifenesen is a wonderful way that I have reversed the symptoms of fibro. If you need more info, I'd be happy to help.
Best of luck to you.
Ann

Re: Fibromyalgia and Migraines
Thanks for all of the replies. I'm hurting so bad today and I seem to be on my own (but that's another story). I might end up in the ER tonight, but that a $100.00 and I don't want another hospital bill. Plus my PCP has me restricted as to what they can do for me (no narcotics), so what's the point; another Torradol shot?
I see her this Monday and I'm going to ask her to put me back on the pain management plan I was on before. I feel like I loose my dignity every time I have to beg for pain relief.
I'm so tired of this shit...

I took guafanasin (sp?) for allergies. I've never heard of its helping migraines. In any case, it didn't help mine.
