Well in the US I guess we just call it crushed tomatoes.

I haven't seen this in any of the other posts, but in all of my sauces I always use an ingredient that you would never know was in the sauce but makes a big difference in the outcome. Don't know why, but it does. It's, grape jelly. A tablespoon or two. Try it the next time and I guarantee you will notice a difference in the taste - it's very good!!

I'm thinking the sugar in the jelly probably adds some sweetness.

Thats a bummer. Much as I love it, we dont have grape jelly here.
We dont really have grap eanything.

Whenever anyone goes to the US, we ask for Grape and Cherry things.
Jello, Jelly, Kool Aid. Love Cherry sodas, but we dont get them. England sucks.

I didnt mean wine. And I think we do make wine, but its not really a climate for grape growing.
Rumour has it you need a little ingredient called sunshine once in a while...

Pen (and anyone else from England), how do you deal with no sunshine? We just had a long weekend of cloudiness and everyone is complaining.

We do get sunshine Linda. It is sunny today, its just that we have 4 seasons daily quite often.
You can go out and wear shorts a t shirt and sunglasses, and end up changing them for a sweater and raincoat before the day is out.

Today is pretty sunny and its 63 degrees, it should be warmer this time of year....but its not.
Its really windy too and that is making it feel pretty chilly.

Apparently, despite what everyone, including we think, we get less rain than a large amount of the States. (Seattle?)
I think it is just the unreliability of it, and the showers that can blight an otherwise nice day.

This year is totally crap 10 days of belting heat and nothing since.

The worst is the winter. The skies are always grey in winter, it gets very depressing.

I bet it is beautiful (as is Seattle).

Seattle is great I know, my friend lives there. Just the Frazier thing with all the rain....

England is beautiful, lots of rain and sun make it very very green.

He was in Walmart.....He is no stranger to America or things American, I think his wife probably hassled him...

Oh its gone up to 72 degrees here and I think we could grow spaghetti..

We dont even have Kool Aid....I am sure there should be a black market trade for it.
We dont have anything grape or cherry flavoured as I said. It's all orange strawberry and blackcurrant.
