Ironing started my head off.,
This is similar to the other week when I was cutting shrubs and hurt my head.
My head is not too bad too bad and we have a pile of ironing.
I decided to give it a go.
I lasted 4 tee shirts and 3 shirts.
It made my arm ache, and then my neck, and now I have had to stop because my head is hurting on the right side.
But.....I think I know where this might have come from....drum roll.....My shoulder.
Not totally sure where, but possibly the shoulder blade itself.
I have often wondered what causes this "other" pain.
Today I stopped ironing right away and maybe this helped not blurr the picture.
Dos someone, Brent maybe, know if there is a particular trigger point there that could refer pain to the temple and top of my head please?
I am now waiting for an appointment with a physio, but this sort of thing happens too frequently for me to dismiss it.
Is it using the shoulder, or bending over...
I would welcome any suggestions.
Thanks a lot,
P

Re: Ironing started my head off.,
I have a similar problem with my shoulders triggering increased migraine pain. The other location is my neck/occipital area. Riding in a vehicle seems to vibrate/jiggle it enough to send these sensations into my head. Rough roads and a lot of starting/stopping are very difficult for me. When I'm sitting, I need to have my arms supported so there is no tension in my shoulders.
Does that sound anything like what you experience?

Becky it is "exactly" what happens with me.
I am having so much trouble going anywhere in the car these days.
Our roads are so bumpy, it triggers pain.
But that isnt migraine, it is another, equally bad pain, but there is a difference.
Have you found anything to help.
I just read a response to my Yoga thread. It sounds promising.

Pen,
I know you have an appointment with a physio sometime soon. I'm wondering if you have something that's pinched. I know that when I have stuff that's out or pinched in my back, any little movement can put me in a world of pain (including bumps in the car). I'm hopeful that they can find an actual spot that is causing your problems.
Just keeping you in my thoughts.

Re: Ironing started my head off.,
Thank you Becky, yes I am in the queue for an appointment with our surgery physio.
I have see her before and she loosened up my neck, but at that time I hadn't realised it could be lower down than that.
(How dumb is that?).
So when I get to go I will mention what you said and am hoping that if she can find where it is I might get some relief from this "other" pain. It isn't migraine, but I think it can turn into one if I don't get to it soon enough.
Also on the Yoga thread tdu has mentioned that can help with neck pain, so another way for me to go.
Thanks Becky.

Really, ooh, that doesnt sound nice.
My healer friend was just here, he has helped my migraine.
I asked him about the shoulder pain, and he pressed and it hurt like Hell.
I will tell the physio lady to look there rather than my neck I think.
