Election scandal
It would seem that when the Polls closed at 10pm, there were queues of people still waiting. Only in England!!
Reported some polling stations didnt have enough voting papers!!!!
This could prove a serious challenge to the result, which is looking hung. (Last thing we needed).
Typical!!!
I voted for Obama

We are well hung.
Well I am sure anyone that's interested in our dumb political system will know by now, but basically there is no result.
Not really. We have a hung parliament with a Conservative majority.
Hung parliaments dont work, and I can imagine we will be spending another shed load of money within about 18 months on another election.
Strangely what appears to have screwed it to some extent is our first stab at televised leaders debate.....an idea we got from America. Seems it didn't work so well here....
Anyway, disappointing result and still no clear picture.

We here in America thought the U.K, did a better job at debating, than we do.

Re: Election scandal
Really Martin? Interesting. Would you care to elucidate further?
We found it very disappointing.

Re: Election scandal
Here in the US, the politicians do not engage each other in their debates. Some of the TV news commentaries wished the our debates would be conducted in the same manner.
I like the wit exhibited by British politicians in their parliamentary debates. It is spectator sport.
As to the hung parliament, look at the bright side, it least they can not do further damage. For the same reason, I like a split government; the president of one party, the Senate or the House of another party. If one party's ideas are too extreme for us middle of the road people, than the other can keep the other in check. Of course, some times nothing gets done.

Re: Election scandal
Thank you Martin. My husband and I found that very interesting.
We wait now to see what Clegg will be prepared to do to work with Cameron.
