How many posts is too many posts?
Recently someone made mention that there were issues in the past with people posting too much, hi-jacking posts and updating too often.
I'm sincerly asking how many posts are too many and how do you know if you are updating too often?
I feel that this forum is a big support for me, and I wouldn't want to be offending anyone by posting too often.
So....how many posts are too many?
Please share your opinions.

Maybe when the number of posts doesn't fit under your photo anymore??
Post away Milo, it gives me something to think and laugh about.

too many posts???
I crave for new posts, so I'd set the limit up to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
Just kidding, but of course I don't think that there's a limit as far as posts are not by bullies or stalkers.
Go on posting as much as you want Milo!

Too many posts?
When the number of posts becomes the size of a set of encyclopedias......on one topic.
When everyone else tells you they get it.
When my printer runs out of ink .
When you get carple tunnel from typing so much.
When you crash the forum.
When the moderator cancels your account.

Re: How many posts is too many posts?
I wasn't aware one could over post.
I don't care if everyone over posts, whatever that is.
I don't even care if we discuss the same things over and over, because new people come all the time.
I ignore the ones I don't think I can contribute to, and find much to enjoy and learn from.
For me.....go for it...

Re: How many posts is too many posts?
When I first switched over to the new forum I turned into the top poster. Shocked me! So, I asked a sage, Ronda old-timer if I was posting to much. He said the forum is to support us in any way and to post to my heart's content.
I don't mind when threads go off track, it feels more like a real conversation. Plus, I think it keeps the forum fresh. If there weren't as many posts it wouldn't be as much fun to check it all the time. I love all the different topics we cover.
I can't get ahold of my "real world" friends at any time night or day. But there's always some one at Rondas! The Vegas of forums. What happens at Rondas stays at Rondas.
So no, I would not like it if there were limits. Would I want to post something but then not in case something more "important" came up? If that were the case we'd never learn about our personalities.
"All night long they chattered away, all night they were happy and gay" Oh well, in theory anyway.

Is that from Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy?
And no I don't think there is such a thing as too many posts. Otherwise I'm screwed too. I love this place and all the various people and the variety of discussions that we have. Yes a lot is related to our disease but I had no idea I'd be able to get such wonderful advice from so many on so many topics...I really appreciate and love everyone here.

Ok. Good to know. I thought the post made it pretty clear that there was such a thing as too many and that people do update too often....which I personally have never witnessed. Always can't hurt to ask for clarification.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

I have seen forums "die on the vine" from lack of participation. So I would rather see a lot of them then too few to keep the venue going.

42 it is.... at least that is the answer to the "Question".
There can't be too many posts. We are here to TALK to each other about migraines on the other forum and whatever here. I enjoy the camaraderie here and if I get tired, I just log off.

Re: How many posts is too many posts?
I'm glad to hear it. I have backed off a lot since reading the post that said people post too much, update too often and take over threads.
I'll be honest, I was quite upset to read it and it turned me off of the site. I'm glad noone else seems to share the sentiment.

As far as I'm concerned, Milo, you have carte blanche to post all you want!
I don't remember anyone ever posting too much here. I have experienced it at other forums, though.
I think the people who post here are in the upper echelons of intelligence and do not post inanely. So, it's all good!

Leslie, Milo,
No TMI here. I check into this forum to read the new comments. If someone were to convince everyone that there is To Much Information (TMI) or non-information it would not be as interesting.
Alli,
How are things in Walnut Creek. Thinking again of when I lived in your area back in the 60's. Before your time, I think. My oldest daughter is 35. About your age. Ooops, I guess I was 15 when you were born.

Re: How many posts is too many posts?
Hal,
You're so sweet! You have my age off by about 13 years though. But I love the compliment.
Walnut Creek is rainy, full of pollen, but great to be here on those sunny days. It's grown quite a bit since the 60's. If you haven't been back in awhile, we are quite the cosmoplitan town now. But my little end is still quiet.

Re: How many posts is too many posts?
I never read that anywhere. The more posts the better. In fact, I don't like it when someone disappears for awhile. I'm either worried they are unable to post or (and this is a good thing) they have conquered their migraines, but we would like to hear from them then more than ever!
Don't worry about repeating either. If we are repeating, it means we don't have the answers yet and want the discussion to keep going.
Post a way!!

This is the comment I'm referring to:
"Much of [past problem] had to do with some posters assuming the forum wanted to know every movement they made, or thought/feeling they had at any hour of the day or night each and every day of the year. There was also a bit of hijacking going on: some members often accounted for 30 to 50 per cent of the posts on any page."

Really, my Canadian Sister, don't let a single post ever bother you ... post away! But what is up with that avatar ... that looks like one vicious small dog! LOL I bet she is a real sweetheart in person.
Re: How many posts is too many posts?
It's my two killer chihuahua's. There is a black one in the picture too. The black on is a killer, an import from a California rescue, and the blonde was a local rescue. They are pretty darn sweet!
