Avatar how to:
Choose your piccie in advance - know what you want and where it is stored.
Go to your PROFILE,
click on AVATAR
use the options provided (your computer, URL etc)
then SAVE
and Presto!

The animated type of avatar, would be a type of file that is saved as an animated .gif.
They can be produced in various photo editing programs such as Serif's PhotoPlus, Adobe's PhotoShop, or others.

I found mine by googling "Motion avatar".
If you google "animated avatars" you get quite a few hits too. It helps limit the search if you put the search phrase in quotation marks.

Oh really? So simple, yet I would never thought of that. What a doofus I am- after all when I look for animated emoticons I do exactly that :/

May I point out that whatever picture you have, your image hostage can make it into thumbnails. Although I forgot whether or not our Avatar option does that automatically.
