When you serve a tea with lemon, do you remove the skin/peel or leave it on?

Because if you ask me, the tea does not taste the same if the lemon is without its skin.
It has to have the skin on!

Yet when I was visiting a friend last weekend I was served a lemon slices thoroughly peeled off.
I created quite a stir when I asked if I can have pieces of peels discarded. I got them, but I was looked at with disbelief. WTH???

With the skin on definitely. I think when you squeeze it, you get the oils from the skin that adds a lot of flavor. I've actually never heard of serving it without the peel. How are you supposed to squeeze the juice into your tea? Sounds messy. lol

No kidding. I like it with the skin and have never been served it any other way. How did you manage it without? Did you get the pulp in the tea?

I have my tea with lemon slices cut into a round slices about 6 mm thick (appxm 1/4 inch)

Then I add sugar and with a spoon I sort of squish the juice out of the slice in the tea while swirling the sugar around. It works!
It looks like this, except I have mine in a big almost half a liter glass:

Risa,

You and my Gia would love each other. She is a huge lemon fan. She will eat a lemon raw with the silliest faces but keep coming back. She also loves pickles and banana peppers..mmm. I haven't dared give her a jalepeno or pepperoncini but when she is old enough I bet she'll love them, too. Very Happy

I cut mine into wedges. Your way looks so pretty, I'll have to try that.

I prefer my lemon covered with sugar, immediately following a shot of ice cold vodka. It's called a "lemondrop". silent

I kinda miss my drinking days. So many fun drinks. Not worth the M the next day though.

But really? Without the rind? Nunh unh.

Oh many thanks Charlotte!, I knew I was missing the one best describing word of the matter but due to the M I have for the last three days my memory is shot, and it was bugging me to no end - it's the RIND!!! Lemon rind, yeah!

Yeah, tea with lemon w/o the rind, huh? it's just sour. I don't get it either.

Brenda, I hope you'll like it my way. In order to get most juice out of the slice, you'll need to push it to the bottom of the cup and squeeze with the spoon it in as many places as you can. It works best while you still have sugar crumbs under.
