migraines and smoking

I don't smoke but I've known some people who do that get migraines. I'm just wondering if smoking can be a trigger or just in general make the migraines worse?

I've been told that by doctors. I quit smoking hoping that would help my migraines. In my case it made no difference at all.

One ER doc told me "quit smoking, its triggering you your migraines". Eh, possibly. But he was with me all of 5 minutes I don't smoke much. I know that this could quite possibly sound like an "excuse" but I had the Migraines long before I started smoking

I am a smoker... Trying to quit, but I have had migraines ( with aura) before I started. So I don't think that's what causes it, but I have noticed menthol cigarettes to be a trigger. Anyways, I'm quitting because my neurologist is basically guaranteeing a stroke in my future if I don't quit... I'm 21... So I'm gonna attempt and hopefully I never have a stroke. Definitely a bit freaked out

I gave up smoking 10 years ago as they were most definately a trigger for me. Sadly it didn't cure my migraines though as I have many many more triggers...

Nowadays I can't even be near cigarette smoke, its an instant migraine for me.

Quitting is hard and I gained some weight but its well worth it
