Hi,

I have been on doxepin, but not for migraine prevention. In my case, it was given for sleep. It didn't work very well though- I didn't get really good sleep on it and went back to my old standby- zanaflex. Doxepin is one of the older anti-depressants, though, and I think my Mom said it was occaisionally used for headache prevention years ago when she did her neurology rotation (that would have been in the 60's and 70s).

I really hope this one helps you, as i know you could use a major break from the migraines. hang in there.

Pain free days,

greeneyes, i took doxepin for a few years, for sleep. it worked pretty well for that, before it stopped being effective. it did nothing for my migraines, but for me, sleep is all-important.

sleep makes the difference between awful migraines and less awful ones! hope it works for you, for at least one symptom, and hopefully, more than one! dianne
