Anyone ever tried Trileptal for migraines?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, but have been having frequent migraines since I was 18 and I'm 38 now. For some reason, they have gotten worse over the past few months and I've had to go to the ER twice in one week for them, because I have developed an allergy to triptans and there just aren't any other abortives that work for me anymore. Anyway, we went to visit my parents out of town this past week and I got yet another migraine and had to go to one of those immediate med-types of places, and I just happened to know the doctor there (we were visiting the town where I grew up). Anyway, he is a neurologist who specializes in headaches and he recommended starting Trileptal (Trileptil?) but I've read mixed things on the internet. I just don't know if I can handle going back on Topamax. Any information or advice you can give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you! Laura
