Encouraging News - Not!
Today I heard that even if you are highly skilled, the longer you are out of work, the harder it is to get hired. Companies view you as a potential problem or damaged goods.
Damn, I feel better now.

From everything I have ever seen about getting a job, it's not what you know, it's who you know Dan. So when your ready to go back to work, ring everyone you know to say hello and casually mention your looking for work.
Having a personal "in" through a friend/acquaintance is likely to be much more sucessful.

Yup, I did the networking thing.
There are SO many people out of work it's hard to get any kind of response. A local employer held a job fair for 240 jobs. Over 1200 people showed up.
