Had a good day, wanted to share

I realized today that I'm always very quick to share my bad days...yet I had a great day the other day and didn't mention a word.

I turned 51 Tuesday. Sunday my eldest son and his new wife treated us to dinner. It was a first with them both being employed and being able to afford more than a card.

Tues. Hubby and youngest son brought me presents. I finally got the diamond stud earrings I've been asking for for years. He finally listened and remembered. Then hubby and my best friend took me out for a day of meandering. Something that these two guys don't particularly enjoy, but they did it for me. It was fun seeing these two men act like little kids doing what they could to make me giggle.

First we went to a Apple orchard/Pumpkin patch. We played in the kids area and acted like Jr. highers, squatting down to out our faces in the barn animal cut outs for pics. We sat in the giant rocking chair and picked apples.

Then we went to a State Park and I didn't realize there was a covered bridge there. I love finding hidden gems.

Then to a German restaurant, where I discovered that as much as I like saying "schnitzel" I don't like eating it. Again a little thing, but my friend picked up the tab for dinner. He's a retiree on a fixed income and it meant a lot that he gave me that as a gift and even remembered to get me a card.

It was a simple day, but my family and friend made me feel very special and loved.

So sad, that you did not enjoy your Schnitzl. It was probably rubbish Schnitzl. To get a proper "Wiener Schnitzl" you would have to come to Austria. They are the nation’s favourite meal along with Tafelspitz and Kaiserschmarrn. Mmmh .... yumyum!! Kaiserschmarrn is just the best.

Indeed we tend to complain more than share our good fortunes.

I have a recent theory about it - when we feel unhappy or stressed, we need to release this bad energy.
Hence we talk it out.

But, when we feel good, happy or anything positive emotionally - we want to hold onto it
