I used to follow Ronda's page every day, and found this new one confusing. I have been suffering with migraines for over 20 years. This past year has been very hard for me. I went to MHNI in Michigan and found no relief there. I also tried a new pain specialist and they said they could not help me because my migraines were not caused by an injury. I am so tired of these. I missed over twelve weeks of work this year and I am a teacher. Not good.

I guess my post is just a vent. I will try to see how this new forum works. I see some familiar names.

Take care.
Becky

welcome back! you'll get used to the new format fast. personally, i don't see how i could have lived thru the past 13 years without this forum.

i have no answers, either, and have tried many things, using up thousands of $ in the process. most of us here never give up trying, and it helps enormously to have people with whom we can discuss options, and who understand better than anyone else what we have to deal with daily. dianne

I agree with Diane, not sure what I would have done without this forum either.

There is a wealth of information here!

Helps to know it's not just me feeling this way and I'm not going crazy!

Blessings to you!

old to migraines, new to this new forum Empty I am also new to this forum

Post  DustysGirl Thu Sep 30, 2010 4:29 pm

Hi! I am also new to this forum. I have had a constant daily headache for the past 17 years and it seems to be getting worse. I have been through all of the tests, the experts, the medications and currently am found in a holding pattern of enjoying the good moments. I am so blessed to have the best husband ever. I do not know of another man who would put up with my type 1 diabetes and all of the lovely things that come with it and daily migraines to boot. He is the reason, along with my faith, that I love my life even though I hurt like hell all of the time. I have read some of the other forums and totally agree with the fact that migraines and promises are not compatible and that it is hard to plan things for fear of having to cancel. Thank you for all of the comments you have shared with each other as it already has made me feel less alone in this crazy maze called headaches. By the way, does anyone have a really strong reaction to cigarette/cigar smoke....or any smoke for that matter? and what about changes in elevation?

old to migraines, new to this new forum Empty dusty's girl

welcome to you. i'm one of those who has several diagnoses, but thank goodness i've missed diabetes, even tho it runs in my family.

i also love my life, even if it is painful every day. like you, i've learned to really enjoy those rare days with less pain.

multiple chemical sensitivity, or MCS, is one of my major issues. wood smoke doesn't bother me, unless it's in huge doses, but cigar/cigarettes, YES, big-time.

people with this problem, and that includes a lot of us with daily migraines, have a limited life because of the environments we must avoid. oh well, i should be used to it by now. migraines and sensitivities.....41 years and counting.

i've not stopped reading and researching and i get new ideas from this forum all the time. hopefully, you will also find help here.

oh, and please break up your paragraphs by hitting enter after every couple of sentences. big blocks of print are hard to read for many of us. we welcome your input! dianne
