Is anyone familiar with effective treatments for cervicogenic headaches (from a whiplash injury) and / or doctors specializing in this kind of headache? I have constant, severe headaches and neck pain from a car accident nine years ago. I have tried numerous treatments but nothing has worked long term. I live in Connecticut but am willing to travel anywhere in the country for treatment.

Hi,

I have NDPH- New daily persistent headache/ chronic intractable migraine. However, it is pretty clear that there is some neck/cervicogencic involvement in my case. The only two things that helped me with this were radiofrequency ablations to C2-C3 bilaterally and eventually an implanted occipital nerve stimulator. The doctors at MHNI recommended the radiofrequency. Later, I was at Jefferson Headache Clinic in Philadelphia and the Drs there recommended the stimualtor.

I would definitely talk to a specialist before going this route though, as both are agressive. So, maybe talk to Jefferson? You can PM me if you want to know more.
