new tattoo

HHmmmm i can't figure out how to post a pic within my message, so i changed my profile pic.
It is my new tattoo, my CHristmas gift to myself.
Its a trinity knot on my left wrist.
I LOVE it, I feel so empowered by it!!

I want a pretty floral ring......red and gold....no black.......around my 2nd toe on my right foot. I have no idea if those colors are doable....but people tell me the toe would be SO painful.

I just cannot bring myself to put ink on myself........one day maybe when my son is grown and can't use my tatoo as an excuse to get is own!

But Daddy has 2 that he got as a teen......a viking on one shoulder and The Mermaid on the other.

Here is my most recent addition.

The celtic-looking part has been there for almsot 20 years, we added to it and all around it.

My FIL does tattoo work Mianna, I'll ask him if the outline is possible in the color you want,
but I need to know what outline color it is that you'd like, gold or red. Black usually sticks around
a lot longer, and it is particular ink and a particular needle that is used for outline work. They might
need to special order your ink, but i'm not sure how common it is to use other colors for outlines, it might
be more requested then we think it is.

I think they'd definitely tell you that you'd need to come in for touch up work. After a couple of years,
especially for the gold, you'd need to have it redone. The toes are also particularly hard too because
of bloodflow in the area. For some scientific blood flow reason I cannot explain properly, extremeties like
hands and feet often fade a lot faster than other areas of your body.

It does sound very pretty, and if you did find a hobbiest that does tattoo work on the side I bet they would
be more than happy to do it, but like I said you'd be battling a few factors. Mostly, it would just require some
maintenence on your part and also lots of sunscreen

i dont have one on my foot yet, but the wrist hurt like hell!! definately the most painful of my 3.
as far as your kids getting tattooed, i took my oldest son & paid for his first one! lol

I have wanted something that symbolizes my kids birthdates or names. I love the longitude and latitude tat's taht Angelina Jolie has for each of her kids. But I won't do that because...well it's been done.

Someone brought up maybe doing something with the morse code symbols in a design. I want mine on my upper left ribcage, close to my heart.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a painful area. Yikes. I love that colors are so easy now. My tat actually has no black in it, the darker color is purple. I really like the look of color without a black outline.

Haw about getting their names in a really pretty script but written so that you can only read it when you look in the mirror? That would be really cool.

Just did a morse code translation online. It would be a pretty BORING tattoo. But, it sure wouldn't hurt much !

I'd like gold on the edges and blood red color as the center I think.

So interesting all the info about the location, blood flow, fading, inks, etc.

I know NOTHING of this world at all! It's just something I've always liked the idea of. I like a simple gold band 14k toe ring I have, I have one in white and yellow gold.........and I've always thought it would be neat to have it be permenant with none of the pinching or taking it off and on.
I usually only wear it in the summer when I keep my feet/toes up and they are on display. Would love something dainty all the time.

I expect red would be really easy, even milo mentioned that her outline
is a pretty purple! See, I guess different color outlines are more requested
than I anticipated

As far as the gold goes. They do not have metallic ink out there, but it is
possible to create the illusion of gold if you are a good artist. You have to be careful
selecting your shop and make sure he/she is capable of the work you need done.
Check out their portfolios, see if they have done similar work with the color. Don't
be afraid to ask, and bring samples of the color you'd like without forgeting they
cannot do metallic at all. Some people are great at doing different things,
find the one that is great at doing gold, because this is what is particularly difficult
about your idea.

I wouldn't worry too much about the pain on your toe. It's probably not as
bad as you'd think. We go through such pain in our heads for hours at a time.
Don't feel bad for your toe thats going to hurt for about a half hour. I have
my daughters name in thick dark script on my wrist. It is right on my bone,
and I have exeptionally thin wrists. I barely felt it at all and it only took about
20 minutes.

My lower back piece took 3 hours. Not so bad for the first 45 minutes but after
that it really started to hurt. It was still bareable and never as bad as my migraines.

We really like watching Miami Ink and LA Ink..My hubby and I personally don't have any, enjoy looking at all of them.

When my Dad passed away I thought about doing a memorial tattoo.
