I'm a mum!

This will be brief as I am pretty busy as you can imagine!

Naomi Alice was born on 19th May at 14:20 weighing 7lb 15.5 oz. She's gorgeous and we are loving getting to know her.

Labour was painful and I had a migraine which didn't help (of course!), but managed to have a natural birth with TENS machine for the first 7.5 hours then used a birthing pool and gas and air (Entonox) when I went into the midwife led unit. All in all it lasted just over 12 hours from waking with contractions, although that was followed by a difficult and very painful 3 hour placenta delivery - it wouldn't come out and I nearly had to have an epidural and surgical removal but a very talented midwife worked some magic and I will be forever grateful to her.

Will be putting pictures up on facebook soon and will put one here too, and hoping to be able catch up on what's going on with everyone else soon too. She's feeding a lot, so I may get some one handed typing done!

I'm thrilled for you and hubby and Naomi! What a lovely name.

I haven't been able to log on for a couple of days, and just popped in quickly today, and this was the first thing I saw. I'm so glad I came online. I'm just so happy for you. It sounds like the experience was exhausting, rewarding, painful, exhilarating, and all those things that there just aren't words to describe. How amazing for you. If I could, I'd give you a big hug.
