And the verdict on the Mother/Son Wedding dance song is....

Post  Paradox on Wed May 05, 2010 4:56 pm

BLUE SKIES by Ella Fitzgerald.

I love it because it gives me a chance to swing dance. Hubby doesn't know how and son does. My future DIL is being kind enough to edit out some of the two minutes of scat because I'm old, fat, have a bad back, and just quit smoking 12 days ago and can't swing dance for three and 1/2 minutes. Suspect

DIL gave us a dead line and I told son if he didn't decide it was going to be "Mother" by Pink Floyd. Twisted Evil He decided.

That's great. I still haven't figured that one out. My head hurts too much to figure out which song to use. Chris is not much of a dancer so it has to be a slower one. What to do???? Aaaaaaaah! It's getting soooo close! Aren't you getting excited? I certainly am. Smile

Our back-up was "Because You Loved Me". We were going to go with the Jo Dee Messina version because we're not big Celine Dion fans.

Here are the lyrics. WOuld that work for you?

I love the lyrics. Can't stand Celine Dion either. I'll have to have my daughter download it to her iPod so I can hear it. I think I am one of the only people in the country who doesn't have an iPod!

I'm going to have to talk to Chris and see if he has any ideas. We need to brain storm a bit!

I'm so excited for both of you on the upcoming weddings!

Don't feel bad, Alli. I don't have an iPod either. Don't really need one at this time with my netbook.
I love you cheers

I was curious what others chose, so I did a web search and found this. Thought maybe it would help you decide.

We haven't decided yet. I gave him a list of my thoughts. It will probably be a surprise to me at the time it happens.

I was right. He is keeping it a secret from me now.

He did threaten me that it would be "Mama Before she was Mama". That song has a line about "in a string bikini down in Tijuana" Definitely NOT me!

They then threatened to put up pics of me in a bikini. It would be a shame to widow my DIL on her wedding day. Crying or Very sad
