Trying to find the perfect song.
What song have you chosen or did you use?
My oldest son used Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World. I didn't really care for that so I am being more involved when asked this time.
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Oh Survivor, I've been struggling with this one for a year and have gotten close to no where. He likes "Simple man" by Lynard Skynard. I like the words but not how slow it is.
BUT, the only thing I've come up with is "God Speed (Sweet Dreams) by Dixie Chicks which is just okay.
I want to do the "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror, but son says no. (JOKE!)
I'd like to hear responses too.

At weddings the bride and brides father have a special dance as does the groom and grooms mother. Generally rather sentimental. my son and i are more jokesters so we're having a tough time.
At wedding receptions though my son and I are always the ones out there dancing to the "Time Warp" from the Rocky HOrror Picture Show. It's both of ours favorite movie.
Clear that up?

Yup,thanks. I dont know if we do that here or not. I have only been to one wedding in 30 years and it was my sons and I had a migraine so dint really enjoy it.
Sounds a cute idea though....
Time Warp sounds good to me...

For my oldest son's wedding dance (mother/son dance), we had "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. The lyrics are so beautiful, especially showing my love, hopes and dreams for my son.
Of course, it was country/western, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's what we have in Montana.
You'll know the right song when you hear it. I hope you make wonderful memories.

My oldest daughter is getting married in August. Unfortunately the song which was well in the UK chart when I got married 30 years back was by The Specials and went, "You done too much, much too young. You're married with a kid when you should be havin' fun...". Perhaps Janice and I should be stomping about to that!

I definitely want a country song. I love the song, "I Hope You Dance" but I don't think it works for the two of us.
I like Kenny Chesney's "You Had Me From Hello" but he doesn't like KC.
I'm leaning toward an old Don Williams song, "I Believe in You"
Here are some of what we are considering.
Kenny Rogers……….Through the Years
……….You Decorated My Life
Kenny Chesney……..You Had Me From Hello
……...Don’t Blink
Darius Rucker………..It Won’t be Like This For Long
Don Williams………..I Believe In You
Billy Dean……………If There Hadn’t Been You
…………....Let Them Be Little
Bette Middler………..Wind Beneath My Wings
George Jones………..A Picture of Me Without You
Lorrie Morgan………A Picture of Me Without You
Willie Nelson………..You Were Always On My Mind
Garth Brooks………..The Dance

Oh, I love "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler. I will keep that in mind when my second son marries (or I hope I will be able to remember it then, LOL).
When my husband and I were married 28 years ago, along with the Christian songs sung at our wedding, a friend sang "The Rose" by Bette Midler. It was very beautiful, and the song still touches my heart all these years later.
