Movies 1939 Empty Movies 1939

1939 was an amazing year for the production and relaease of movies. The year when WWII began - but all that horror was in the future. FDR had halved the unemployment rate and movies made life bearable.

1939 was the year of THE Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind. And it was the year that Special Effects became an Oscar category. "The Rains Came" took the first Special Effects Oscar - and Steve hayes thinks it deserved that recognition. Here's this week's TOQATM. Enjoy!
