Does anyone have seering forehead pain? Do you know the cause? Is it migraine? When I wake up with it it lasts all day. Does not stop until I wake up the next morning. Any ideas??

Hi i do have headaches that start in the forehead lately but sadly progress to their usually right handed side and end up as migraines, not sure if it is the preventatives i am taking that has caused this because previously i always got a right handed pain and M straight away,

the only other thing i can think of is raised blood pressure, this can cause frontal headaches that simply wont respond to otc meds, my father had it several years ago, and we told him off for not drinking enough water etc, but after about 6 weeks of this persitant frontal headache he went to his gp who took his BP and said to my father 'well i dont know how you are still hear your BP is nearly off the scale' and promptly put him on BP meds, within days his headaches went and he has not had it at since, just a thought,

mmmm, I will check my b.p. today, I am on medication for it, but not necessarliy for it being high. It was a tiny bit high and my neuro got all excited cuz he could put me on it as a betablocker for the migs. Go figure. It is a vicious circle, pain can elevate b.p. also.

thanks for the input.

That is the same pain I get that is described in Pen's post on neck problems. I believe that is where mine start. No meds realy touch it.

had a bad one yesterday so wasn't posting.

When I get pain all across my forehead it always ends up being a migraine. Sooner or later it becomes one sided and gets even worse.

Over the last few months about half my migraines have begun, on waking, as forehead headaches which then develop into full-blown one-sided or behind the eyes migraines. Occasionally I can abort them with an OTC med and a coffee but not very often.

I put it down to MOH as I take so many tablets. Or it could be my age, the weather ..... I don't know. I've got low blood pressure and I try to keep hydrated.

Sorry you had a bad one yesterday Alli Crying or Very sad I did too and today the area above my temple is so tender even to touch lightly - do others get that?

My forehead still has bad pressure and pain when the barometer drops. I had sinus surgery but the doc said the frontal (forehead) may have reduced openings or be closed all together. I assumed those were check during the last surgery but I guess not.

The thought of going through that again makes me shutter.

Lizzie, maybe that is what I was getting the same as you described, my temple and eye hurt so bad, then it would turn into a bad migraine, maybe it's the weather, it is better today, but so sore and tender to touch!

Brent, I have been investigating sinus surgery for a deviated septum. ( I was told I have) the neurologists all say it won't help, only a temporary fix, and some on this site have said they had it and it didn't help.... sorry.

Hope we all get some relief soon. I was on the edge last night, nothing was working for me, so I just lost it and cried, boy I paid dearly for that, it made it worse! Of course I knew it would, but just couldn't hold back.

Here''s to better days for us all, cheers

Anyone that is barometer sensitive should have an good ENT doc check the sinuses. I was told that my migs were not sinuses by three neuros and one ENT. Then I found a ENT that specialized in baro problems. A thin slice CT scan showed the blockage. I didn't give up, had the surgery and the pain/pressure is 80% less now.

Basic physics says a enclosed cavity will expand when the external pressure drops. When that cavity is right on top of your trigeminal nerve and/or eyeball it can be bad news.

I know that most migs are not sinus related but I hope everyone that is suspicious that they might be gets them checked out. And by a doc that knows what they're doing. I could have avoided two years of hell in hindsight if I knew then what I know now.

Me too Alli. ~Sometimes I try to figure what it is, but now I am learning that's it.
Sooner or later its migraine.
See most of mine start in the night so I guess they dont wake me until they are one sided.....more severe.

Sorry cant be more help.

What other symptoms did you have besides the forehead pain? Congestion? Anything? Let me know. Thanks.

Just a whole lot of pressure and pain when the air pressure changed. No sinus infections, drainage or congestion. My tinitis would get worse and I would get transient deafness in one ear and sometimes a low frequency buzzing.

I think the the lack of typical sinus symptoms is why it took so long to connect the dots.

I thought this was another side effect of my new drug amitryptaline scratch After reading this, I don't know now.

I've usually only gotten the throbbing migraine feeling around my right temple/forehead area, behind the eyes, or a general 'concussion' like feeling throughout my whole head. But I'd say within the past month, I've been getting very sharp, seeringly painful headaches in the left temple so bad that I've had to keep pressure on it just to get through it. Sounds a lot like how you describe it, then sure enough it blends in to a migraine shortly thereafter.

This is just getting stranger and stranger after the severe migraine thread where a group of us all had bad migraines over the weekend. Why so many similarities all at once? Or just complete coincidence? Maybe I am so used to not knowing anyone that understands migraines that I'm overthinking it Neutral Just wish we could figure out what is triggering all of us as a group in such similar ways...

Thanks for replying. This is interesting. I don't have any typical sinus symptoms either. This is why I really hadn't put down my forehead pain (excrutiating) to a sinus problem. I also have chronic hissing in my ears. These two situations began simultaneously years ago. I do however have a history of allerigies, hayfever etc. You get the picture I'm sure. Where exactly was your pain. My can be in the foredhead down the temples and even into the top of the cheeks. Does this sound familiar at all to you?
