What is going on?
Hello, I'm 20 years old and for about a month now I've been experiencing headaches that come and go. Mostly on the left side of my head. I'm currently experiencing one but it's not too intense since it has calmed down a bit. The headaches come and go and they do not wake me up at night, I don't vomit, I don't feel weakness anywhere and my speech is nit affected. I went to the family physician and he told me to take Advil Migranes for now. This is my second day taking them and I don't feel any different than I did about a month ago. These headaches come shortly and go. Some days I would experience them throughout the day. Can you please help and let me know what possibly can be going on? Because I'm really worried.
Thank You
Thank You

Diagnosis is rather complicated. I do not generally get nausea or weakness with mine either. One sided tends to indicate migraine. But it could also be other things. When you say come and go, how long are you talking about? Very short durations (15-20 minutes) sounds more like a cluster headache (especially if male).
If it is a migraine, Advil migraine and other OTCs may not do much of anything. They certainly don't help mine and are not a preventative. You may want to see a neurologist who specializes in migraines. They will do a MRI which is important for ruling out something more serious ( eg brain tumor) and get you a proper diagnosis and treatment.

It's lasts for like 10 seconds and it goes away. It might not be a long time but it kinda bothers me. It grows more intense and longer if I eat chocolate or very sweet think. There is also a minor pain in my upper jaw right in front of the ear.

That really does not sound like migraine. Perhaps cluster headaches. I recommend you see a specialist.

Hi,
Definitely see a neurologist/headache specialist. Advil and other OTC meds can help, but not all the time. In fact, they can sometimes make things worse. I'm so sorry you are going through this. It is also great that you have narrowed down a few triggers. Hang in there. Feel free to post anytime.
Pain free days,

This sounds like ice pick migraines to me. Other than the term and a basic description, I don't know much about them.
Here's a link to some info that's on the Cleveland clinic's a page - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases_conditions/hic_Overview_of_Headaches_in_Adults/hic_Less_Frequently_Encountered_Headache_Types
The Cleveland clinic is well thought of amongst migraineurs.
