Skinny Jeans or not
I have rather large hips and have always debated on whether I should buy the new fashion of
skinny jeans (jeans that narrow at the ankle) I have always worn flares. I never bought myself a
pair, especially since the birth of my daughter because I put on such a large amount of weight.
Since I started on topamax I lost a significant amount and feel rather confident. I now weigh 150lbs
and stand 5'4.
For Christmas, my MIL brought me a pair of these crazy jeans. I put them on and checked myself out.
I don't think they look too bad. I definitely need a pair of sexxxay boots to go with them, but first I want
some opinions before I spend cash on boots that would only go with these jeans. So alas, here's some
pictures. Also, sweatshirts are not nice for my figure, I know. I actually have a nice waist. So
yes, I have these waaabam hips, but if you ignore the pluuuooof of the sweatshirt, theres a waistline
somewhere in there, too LOL.
Please be honest but nice. I'm still a little on the fence about my body after baby.

So sorry about picture quality and also that I cannot rotate the picture. I'm a doofas LOL

Re: Skinny Jeans or not
I really like the skinny jeans and boots look and I think you'd suit it. As you're self conscious of your hips I'd choose longer tunic tops or jumpers and wear with a belt around the middle to emphasise your waist. My hips are 'noticeable' and I've given up being worried by it (well, I try to). We are women, we have hips. Curvy is sexy!

LOL, when I posted my Christmas pic's originally they were all side ways too. I laughed when I thought about people in different countries sitting at their monitors with their heads cocked sideways like I just did. Sorry, I don't remember how I got them straight.
I think the jeans look quite nice on you. Definitely pull an outfit together with them.

Re: Skinny Jeans or not
My 2 cents on Skinny Jeans is.... They only look good on people with extra tiny/un-curvy legs. That is not my body type and I spent lots of time observing people in skinny jeans and I always found that ANYONE with even a little curve to their thighs/hips looked more like they were in too tight denim spandex (that bad early 90s look). I know exactly where you r coming from b/c I have wanted them too....and have dropped a lot of (but not all) my post baby weight (thats not anything spectacular considering my youngest is 3....lol...the hollywood stars seem to lose theirs in 3 days....me...three years!!...lol)
Sooooo....My gentle but honest opinion is that you have a great figure...some curvature to your hips and thigh with a small waiste. Sooo many other styles would compliment that figure and make it "sexxxaayyyy" BUT...the skinny Jeans, imho, wouldn't be the MOST flattering for your (and mine and most reg. women's figure) They r for the stick thin legged model types.....In my opinion!
I hope you appreciate my honesty!!! I do think you look amazing! And 25 lbs in 2 months is totally something to celebrate!!! I just say celebrate with an even MORE flattering style, and you'll feel AMAZING about how ya look!

You have a beautiful figure and you are young. I say go for it!. I have 2 daughters, one is 20 and curvy the other is 16 and too skinny. They both look good in skinny jeans. I think its a shame they got that name since it implies that you have to be skinny to wear them! Ay 50, I am past the look, but I would have worn them in my youngrer days.

Re: Skinny Jeans or not
LOL @ charlotte now I'm picturing everyone looking at my skinny jeans sideways
Thanks for your honesty Jessica, I think thats where I've been going myself. I look at girls with my
body type and think, they look okay but I think they'd look better if they wore...but then my mind
goes blank because I am retarded at style and all I ever wear is sweatshirts and jeans with flare lol.
Do you have any good style advice? Maybe you can point me in a better direction?
I think I'm still going to wear my skinny jeans because after all they are jeans and they fit, but I'm not going
to put an elaborate amount of time or money into them. Last year I purchased a pair of UGG boots because
damn they are just about the most comfortable and warm footwear you could hope for. Instead of
spending cash that I dont have trying to make an outfit for these pants, I'm going to pair them with my uggs
and a nice sweater that flatters my hips and makes my boobs look nice, so you look at them a bit more than
my big ol' booty
Amy, I like your belt idea too, I'll try it out as well. Don't have too much cash but when a friend of mine
returns from Cancun (lucky lucky girl) I'm going to borrow one of hers and see how it works.
Me and skinny jeans are going to do some compromising.

Re: Skinny Jeans or not
gosh! what this word came too!! a woman is supposed to have an hourglass figure!
So you have a perfect shape, Lovegia.
Go for skinny jeans, match them with, say, empire top or any top that hugs your hips or any top that compliments your perfect figure. and finish with elegant boots or high heels, or ballet shoes.
Listen to the mature one who acquired wisdom with age lolol hence uglier but wiser:
you are young only once. here is your chance to wear skinny jeans any which way. use it, before you lose it!

I agree with Risa. You have a beautiful woman's body. Wear the skinny jeans if they fit and enjoy them.

Re: Skinny Jeans or not
Jeez guys, Thank you so much! I woke up this morning to read all your comments and felt like
I was at the top of the world. It's been a really long time since I felt good about myself, and
this year I'm starting it off feeling super hot lol
I picked out a nice brown and gold figure hugging cute sweatshirt (Risa, you'd be proud)
at bobs yesterday. It was originally $60 but I got it for $15!!! I couldn't say no!!!
I found boots lying around from two years ago too that are a little bit more feminine than uggs,
but they match the sweatshirt fantastically! When I wear it I'll post a picture to show you guys the
full outfit. I'm mostly proud of my sweatshirt find! ITS AWESOME and it didn't break the bank.
Thanks again guys because seriously, I've never started a year out feeling this confident, and to
be honest, after having my daughter, I didn't think I'd ever feel this confident at all!

I think you look great in your skinny jeans..Looking forward to seeing your picture with your boots and sweatshirt. So happy to hear that you are feeling good about your body.
I'm with Risa on this..women are supposed to have curves.

I have never cared for the anorexic looking fashion models. They look very ill, not healthy or sexy. I am glad for the Victoria's Secret models 'cause at least they let them have boobs and butts.
Wear what makes you feel good about yourself.

skinny jeans
I just bought a pair of skinny jeans to go with my black leather knee high boots.
I actually found them at WalMart, I was very excited!
I wore them 2 times before I realized they were Miley Cyrus pants!!!!! It is so against my principles to buy Miley Cyrus pants!!
But I keep wearing them because I love them.
My son thought it was hilarious and threatened to put it on my facebook - gggggrrrrrrr.

why Beth?
Beth,
You said you are against Miley Cryrus items on principle. I know who she is and that there is a l lot of commercialism surrounding her, but that's all I know. I'm curious about what your objections are. If it's personal and you don't want to say, fair enough. I'm being nosey.
