The Cruelest Thing Migraine Does
The cruelest thing my migraine episodes is not the pain nor the inability to walk or talk. No not at all - I have accepted and can live will all that.
The cruelest migraine turtore is becoming confused and thinking Steve is only away on a trip and we need to go get him at the airport - or that Steve is waiting for me at home - or that Steve is going to walk in the front door any moment. THAT migraine induced confusion is cruelest joke of all. It hurts SO much even after more than two years - SO MUCH!

{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}. That must be so hard on you Richard. Your migraines really do affect you in some horrible ways, I'm so sorry.
I don't think you ever stop missing a loved one, but in this case it must have been like waking up from a dream that you don't want to wake up from!

So heartbreaking, Richard.
The emotional toll of migraine IS much worse than the physical pain.

And people still don't begin to comprehend the disabling effects of migraine based on all the bits they do know, let alone these heartbreaking moments. Migraine is indeed a cruel disease. My heart goes out to you Richard.

Re: The Cruelest Thing Migraine Does
this has been a very difficult day. For the life of me, I cannot get the idea or the image out of my mind of Steve waiting at the airport for me to pick him up. It is so clear an image and the feelings are so strong. I have this huge compulsion to go see for myself that he is not there. Silly, but the feelings are intense.
