Number of Migraines per month on average
I wanted to discuss what the number of migraines people are getting and how long they last because mine seem to take over my life. The month of September, I have 24 days of headaches/migraines. I started a journal that month to write down wether it was a headache or a migraine and then also the level of pain. I am just finding it hard to live with this amount, it is a struggle on my life, to hurt every day. I rarely have good days anymore. Right now I am on 50 mg of topamax, down from 100 mg because I could not function, wellbutrin 150 mg 2x day, zanax about 2-3 x per month when I get really stressed out, birth control pill, and then maxalt or imitrex for onset and vicodin for pain. I am going to a new neurologist Dec 10th, the idea of botox has come up. I have kept a diary of triggers, which include, bright lights, sun, over heating, exercise, alcohol, hot dogs, stress, lack of eating or dieting, and loud noises.

Mine will go at least 2 to 2 1/2 weeks. At other times it can go for a whole month. I never feel 100% on the better days.

Re: Number of Migraines per month on average
hmm this depends, I would say that for a migraine that doesn't respond to triptans and I'm in bed for 4 days or so that happens once every few months. However I have a lot of migraines that are aborted by triptans at least one a week for those. I also get a LOT of tension type headaches almost on a daily basis that I relieve with 4head (not sure how this is called outside of the UK) else that will develop into a migraine too occasionally I have to to take Anadin (asparin) for tension headaches too.
I would say its very rare for me to go a whole week without any headpain of some kind or another at all....

Well, October had 8 days at a level of 2-4; 3 days at 5-6; and 1 day at 7-9. The month before that was 9 days at 2-4; and 5 days at 5-6. So overall I'm running about 35-45% at some level of headache. It seems to be creeping up unfortunately.

I'm feeling rather lucky now! I've had 7 migraines in three weeks, but the drugs have killed them all before they took hold. Otherwise, they normally last two days or up to four days, although when I was on various contraceptive pills, they actually made the migraines worse rather than better, and would lead to up to 9 days of 2-3 migraines in a row when I'd come of the pill along with the usual ones during the month. Two days after my last migraine, I'm still sitting here in my jimjams and not wanting to move my jaw to speak because even though the pain has gone, the flatness and tiredness is ongoing. Stupid migraines!

I have them every other day. They are always running high and need Triptan.
I also have a lower grade head pain, and a bad neck pain. These I try to treat with OTC, but seldom succesful.
I sometimes get a break with just the daily pain.
I dont know why that occurs, but it is never more than once in a couple of months.
I now have a half life. I get up and sit on the couch.
I leave the house once in every 5 days or so.
It is not life...
