2010 Migraine Poetry Contest.
I wanted to be sure all of you are aware that we're now accepting entries for our 2010 Putting Our Heads Together Poetry Contest.
Even if you've never written a poem before, give it some consideration. One year, our first place winner won with the very first poem she'd ever written.

I'm working on one. the best poem I've written was about Trigeminal Neuralgia. I'm trying to get the same inspiration to write on about my migraine experiences.
I hope to have one I like ready to enter before the deadline.

Hi Teri,
I'm trying to enter the contest but when I click on the link it just keeps taking me back to your page with your poem, which is fantastic btw.
What should I do?
Here is my poen. I wrote it when I woke up with a bad migraine. I had been dreaming that I was trying to take my meds while visiting with a friend. I woke up with pain boring through my head.
Dreams Lost
By Allison Harrison
God! This agony!
Spearing, boring through my head
So much is gone
Chased away by relentless pain
Dreams for my life have fled
From the small world my life has become
Fenced in by pain
No room is left for dreams of more
What life is this that now exists
Friends have disappeared
Tired of excuses and missed events
By how unreliable I have become
What clarity I have
Is clouded by a fog brought on
By my traitorous brain
And my arsenal of drugs
Those drugs, those blasted drugs
Supposed bring this monster down
But at such an awful cost
My brain is dull and oh so slow
So now I exist in the small spaces
Between pain and fear
Of attacks of agony, a body betrayed
By a brain storming with neuronal fits
My dreams have changed
From a life lived large
To simply a wish -
A life without my companion pain

Alli,
Glad you got your poems posted. I noticed that one was posted twice. Looked as if all the line breaks disappeared the first time. I deleted that copy for you.
For anyone else who's interested, we're accepting entries through March 31.
