What? Again?
Howdy
Well, I am back in migraine land. Had the worse episode of the last year over the last two days. the whole smear ...
Headache
Hallucinating Music (nice music - but still a hallucination)
Confused as to where I am
Loss of basic memory - how to get into bed, for example
Inability to speak clearly
Nonsense speech
Loss of use of left leg - walk with limp and cane
Temporary paralysis - simply unable to move
EXTREME photophobia and phonophobia
Can't remember from one moment to the next
The entire spectrum of my delightful symptoms.
thom is beside himself and my roommate is concerned. In a moment of lucidity this morning, I sat them both down for my "Migraine 101" talk - brain stem, misfiring neurons, symptoms, treatment - the whole lecture. they both felt better with a bit of knowledge.
But this is getting old. I am used to it, and it is me. but some days are easier to bear than others. Oh well - no one said life would be easy, just worth it!

Re: What? Again?
I had one of my worst ones for quite some time over the weekend, too, Richard. It required all three of my abortives to get it to budge.
Now I'm in that hangover phase and suffering from heartburn. Doc is changing my abortives because they're eating my stomach up. Just don't feel well at all.
I guess it keeps life interesting and ever-changing.
Hang in there. I hope the worst is behind you and that you'll be back to feeling good again soon. Take care.

Re: What? Again?
richard,
sorry to hear sir. you definitely get some more neurological symptoms that resemble stroke and some other ugly stuff. my migraines hit like that....
the speech, confusion, inability to communicate part is a bit scary. often times i just get nailed with this and can't talk--brain wants to, but nothing comes out. some of my docs are going to look at basilar issues coming up.
take care, and if thing get too out of line, get things checked. it's like russian roulette with these symptoms.
good luck,
mgb

Glad to see Thom hanging in there. Sorry to hear about your migraines. Sounds like you've got a good man, although confused and scared he sounds very good.
I love that you are still positive during this time. The last line of your post thrilled me beyond belief. Thanks for that.
Feel better soon, Richard. I will be thinking of you.

Richard, I read this when you posted but was too sick to reply. I feel so badly for you that you're in this predicament. I'm so glad Thom and your roommate are there with you and you educated them. I am glad you are hopeful.
