Here is an interesting new study that links colic in babies with migraines. Apparently it is not due to tummy problems after all.

http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/827825

My daughter had colic for about 2 months as a baby and later had pediatric migraine (manifests as a stomach ache) in about 5th grade which went away with medication. She has had problems with headaches on and off as a teenager and young adult, but so far not full fledged migraine (thankfully).

How about anyone else? Have you seen a link between colic and migraine in your families?

Hmmmm interesting. My oldest son had colic as a baby and now has a mild problem with migraines. If he avoids coffee however he doesn't have much of an issue.

I was very colicky as a baby and young child.

In elementary school, I had many tummy aches and/or headaches that kept me home sick, from school.  What a Face

Funny, my daughter had a bad colic as a baby in her early months (otherwise very healthy baby) and is now suffering from h/a, but she claims stubbornly that it is only "sinus trouble".

I am not sure, I think at times it sounds to me like a proper M. But it is true her h/a has never been as bad as mine (I had bad M all my life).

I think she is comparing myself to me, and my being violently sick with frequent bouts of severe debilitating M when she was growing up, and it is true, her h/a has never as bad, as this. But I still think that she does get occasional M, not "sinus trouble".

Hi Mattie, I'm 70...or will be in a couple of weeks and still having migraine also. For me it usually starts out one sided but often spreads to the whole head. Also I often go for days with it switching sides back and forth. Just odd but migraine doesn't seem to be the same for any of us. Praying that this will ease up for you.
