any here over 65
Just wondering if your migraines are better are worse as you get older. My dr tells me he thinks I shouldn't be having M at my age. I turned 70 this year & they are worse than ever. I have more facial numbness & headaches are more often. I tend to think mine are caused from the stress of getting older & trying to keep up the same pace as when I was younger. Thanks.

I also heard my migraines would get better. I'm 65. They did not get better until I began taking supplements for migraines and changed my diet to restrict wheat, barley, eggs, fats, and dairy. Now, if I eat too much fat, I get a migraine. If I cut back on my supplements, I get a migraine. I have good control as long as I restrict my diet and take the supplements. The key is finding your personal migraine triggers. Good luck in the search for your triggers.

i'm 73. of course, i was also told that they would improve after menopause. hahaha.
mine have never had anything to do with hormones. the M's have been with me since 1969; 44 years now.
coconut oil is my new "miracle" substance. read about it if you like, here, and youtube has some pretty impressive videos.
i work 30 hours/week and will have to forever. so one can imagine how ecstatic i have become, after finding a part of "the answer". nothing will work for everyone. in fact, maybe coconut oil will work for very few, but it's cheap and benign to try, unlike drugs.
every case is so very different, but other oldsters are hereby invited to write me if anyone would like to talk about similarities in our histories and/or stuff we've tried. dianne

Thanks for your replies. I've cut back on foods that are triggers until I don't have a lot of things left I can eat. Coconut oil & most all supplements, meds & chemicals are triggers for me. I found out the hard way that a lot of the herbal oils trigger seizures also. Hope you all get better soon.

Re: any here over 65
I am 75 years old, my chronic headache started on Dec 05, 2006 at 10:30 AM, while on the phone. I've had great deal of relief from Osteopathic Manipulation therapy. The Osteopath said the headache was due to a by-pass surgery that I had in 1992. He said the surgery created restrictions in the pericardium (the sac around the heart) and the left diaphragam muscle. Imagine, this an Osteopath fresh out of Osteopath medical school! My regular med. school doctors, not a clue.

I hope your by-pass surgery has been successful. Migraines are a horrible side effect. I don't think I've heard of that before. Glad you are getting some relief.

matte, my headaches are not episodic (like migraines), they are constant with varying degrees of intensity. But, doctors do give us types the same meds as migraineurs.

I used to have M's almost every day but I can't imagine them being constant. I hope the meds work.
