For the second time this week I have been brave....or stupid.....

I had my other pain (the controversial one I think is myofascial, but some say is migraine)
I took 2 Anadin Extra (nearest relative Excedrin, but mine have more aspirin which i respond best to)
They took 90 minutes but they helped bring it from say 7 to 5.

6 hours later is worsened. Usually I dont like to take any more, but this tme (and earlier this week) I did.
Took about 90 minutes again, but they worked and instead of early bed, it is almost 1am and I am off now.
Thats not to say I have been pan free, but now I am wondering with all my fear of MOH am I under medicating?

Going back to 2000 I was taking 4 of these almost every day, so roughly 100+ a month.
I gradually eased back and now I take c. 30/35. More than I would like, but as you know, we gotta live...

The neuro (who seems to have dumped me) told me to cut them back...(the 30) and gave me 12 triptans instead, but it isnt Triptans I need for this other pain. I need something that might work and not leave me knocked out. But I have been rationing myself because of the, dont take them on more than 15 days a month.....

So anyone who feels inclined, can you offer an opinion please. I feel quite empowered right now.

What I do is take whatever I need to in order to make me feel comfortable. I don't really care about rebounds because really, can it get much worse than 4-5 migraines a week anyhow? Does an extra couple days really make that big of a dent? To me..no. I'd rather take my meds and be a happier more comfortable person. It took me a long time to decide that but i've finally realized it and I'm sticking to my guns.

Until I've found a good enough solution besides narcotics and barbituates (which is what is being offered) that is what I am going to do. When I have something else to change my mind, I will. I am still very aware and concerned about dependency and addiction and keep myself in line regarding that. I never take more than prescribed unless it is an emergency situation and even then I call a pharmacist to make sure it is safe. I also give myself breaks to test MOH and dependency. About once a month I go a week without medication and another week during the same month I typically use my meds 2x a week. The other two weeks (ovulation and period/weather) I go crazy with my pills. Such is life.

I know you take what is necessary and I know I would too if it worked better.
It is now 3pm and as yet I haven't taken anything.
Although just washed my hair, and that always hurts me.

Did taking a second dose yesterday keep it at bay....
Only time will tell.

Well as I started this, I thought I would at least round it off.
I have not taken anything today, and have managed to go and babysit my two grandkids for 5 hours.
They are aged 3 and 3 months, so pretty lively stuff..

I am now tucked up in bed, and its 1.10am.
I am pretty chuffed with myself but have no idea if taking the second dose yesterday might have helped me.
I guess we'll see.
