Any experience with the Headache Care Center in Springfield, MO?
Hi!
I am a 41 y.o. female who has suffered from migraines since I was 18. I have since lived in 5 states and have been through heaven only knows how many docs regarding my migraines since the age of 18 to no avail. My latest neurologist informed me today that he is referring me out-of-state to the Headache Care Center in Springfield, MO as he believes there is nothing more that he can personally do to help me get better. Currently, I take topamax, keppra, neurontin, Cymbalta, and propranolol for headache prevention. I also get Botox injections every 3 months as well. For acute migraine pain, I take Norco as I am no longer allowed to take any of the triptan medications by my cardiologist...I had a severe coronary artery spasm last year after taking Relpax.
Does anyone have any experience with this headache clinic? I don't want to get my hopes up of finding some real help there to just be given the same old run around I have been given by doctors for the past 20 years...all talk and no results. It seems they are all very quick to point out things in my life that are the supposed culprits for causing the migraines, and I eliminate the food or behavior (such as caffeine and erratic sleep patterns), but the migraines never improve. They have just steadily gotten worse over the years. Now that I am entering peri-menopause, my hormones are causing even more migraine problems. I am in need of quality help as quickly as possible.
Any info that anyone can provide about this clinic would be much appreciated.
