nerve injection experience so far.

Hello everyone.
I had my injections into the back of my head on Friday. So far I can't tell what benefit they are doing. I think there might be something but I expected to feel a difference the first day. The back of my head still feels sore. I think there is less nausea but the back of my head seems rather angry. Does the effect build up rather than being immediate?

What did they inject, lidocaine?

It was some sort of anaesthetic.

About two or three years ago, I had novocain injections in the back of the head, they did nothing for me.

Recently, I tried Osteopathic manipulation and neural therapy injections on the chest and leg scars due to by-pass surgery 20 years ago (and on a broken knee surgery scar on the other leg). He said that the by-pass surgery was causing restrictions that pull the head forward; thus the headaches. He said the injections consisted of procaine (Novocain, I think). It took about a week or so, for me to feel any relief, it was not sudden. I felt the relief occurred when he injected me in the upper part of the chest scar (sternum). Overall, that has lowered the headache pain level. I have more good days (I barely feel the headaches). But , I still have some bad days, in which I have to take generic Midrin. And, I still take the Zenaflex at night, which also helps.

I should say that my chronic headaches are not migraines, but I do have some migraine symptoms.

so at one week it is early days really. It seems such a long time to wait! I suppose compared to the six years of putting up with this it isn't really but it's the anticipation of there possibly being something that could make a difference, like waiting for a really good cake to be cooked but not knowing the cooking time.
