Question about Steroid packs

What do the steroid packs entail?

In the past when I've taken steroids I've gotten very aggitated (sp?), feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin. My last experience was about 10 years ago and I've avoided them crazy since then.

I'm on day six of a doozy and not seeing any break in the weather. I'm getting desperate on what to try to break this. For once my Toradol injection isn't working. I had wanted to not take my vico today but gave in.

Any suggestions?

I have no idea what they are but I heard they help and I'm in so much pain and have been getting doozies that don't stop. I don't care what they give me anymore so long as it helps. I was looking to try one today because it is day 3 and nothing is helping.

I have never used one before, but I too am interested in prior experiences. Hopefully the new neuro will be more understanding and I will have an opportunity to try one in the future.

Steroids do make some people agitated. However, they are very effective at ending
a long term migraine. Which is worse? Continuing to suffer with headache or
feeling agitated. That's the question you have to answer.

I was prescribed a steroid pack after a car accident after going 2 days without any let up and nothing else working. They worked great!!!--broke the cycle. My neuro told me they make some people really "up", "happy", or whatever. All I know is they broke the pain so I was a happy camper.

I have had the same affect from the steroid pack, you want to come out of your skin. Can't sleep. I was given them by my neruo. to get me out of the cycle of the migraine, it worked, but I hate taking them.

Anyone know if these steroid packs get prescribed in Canada?

Fom what I read, it's a six day pack of oral steroids that tapers each day. I think this might work for me as the dexamethasone is my back-up "break glass in case of emergency" abortive.
