Dear all
I happened to find this on youtube and am going to do it at once. Nothing else left for me. Maybe one of you likes to try it, too. The lady also mentions a special breakfast for us, with a banana and kardamon plus something I don't understand. Sounds like "gee" and is available in Indian food stores. Does anybody know what that might be?
All the best to all of you - and me, too ;-)

I found her very hard to follow and understand, so gave up at the start of the 2nd video. I hope it helps someone with more patience than I...lol

Ghee is simply a clarified butter which is often used in Indian cooking.

You can buy it in Indian, or ethnic shops, or in some supermarkets ( we can in UK at least).
But if you want to cook Indian dishes, you can use ordinary unsalted butter instead.

Or you can make ghee yourself by metling unsalted butter until it is liquid, and then gathering and throwing away the foam from the top; what remains is a clarified butter, or in other words ghee.

Thanks a lot, mini, for your explanation what ghee is. I had hoped that it was something much more interesting, haha. "Ghee" is very well known here, too, as "Bratbutter", that means butter to fry sth. No need to go to an Indian shop.
Come on, freak, what's your mothertongue? Mine isn't English and I can understand this Indian lady very well though her accent isn''t familiar to me either.
Have a good day everybody!
PS This morning I had a slight backache from the spine twisting exercise. So please take care when you try it too.

I also found this Indian lady easy to understand, as despite her accent she speaks slowly and clearly. It might be a matter of listening to her more then once, then you get use to the way she speaks.

However, I found it a little irritating that the videos were so short, and would prefer two or three exerices combined on one longer one, to watch and practice togther. But anything to deistract us from M that does not do us any harm is worth trying.
Shame about your back Swisslady, but it is easily done when trying any new exercises - thanks ofr the warning though.

BTW you did not say if you felt any benefit?

Mini, I cannot tell yet if the exercises worked. I was finally painfree last night after 4 Relpax in two days, before the exercises. I did the breathing on a short walk today (hope nobody watched me) and the finger mudras plus some pressing of acupressure points. No migraine in sight so far!! I had an extremely bad month with 15 days of Relpax (yes, I know...) due to extreme weather changings.
All the best to you and kind regards!

Thanks for posting the link. I will check this out. It's curious that banana would be recommended for a migraineur's breakfast. Bananas are one of the more commonly know triggers, as far as I know...

Thanks,
Michelle

yoga against migraine, advice by an Indian therapist, online Empty shame on me

Post  freak032173 Tue May 01, 2012 6:20 pm

I'll admit to being a tad intolerant, and I suppose part of my impatience came from the M I was having, although that isn't really an excuse. It's always been hard for me to understand people with accents. It's prbly why I've never truly traveled "down south" here in the USA...I get tired of saying "what?" all the time....lol

I hope these videos help those of you who can sit through them!!
